THE DISGRACEFUL DISGUSTING URBAN SPLASH AWARD

Urban Splash
It was back in June 2014 that Salford Council's former head of housing, Councillor John Warmisham absolutely laid into Urban Splash for its botched upside down terraced houses next to Chimney Pot Park in Langworthy.
For years, the Salford Star had been slagging off the company and the Council, firstly for the prices paid to those who had their homes taken off them on the estate, secondly for the amount of public money trousered by Urban Splash for the `regeneration', and thirdly for the state of the unfinished streets once the authorities had stopped chucking public money at Tom Bloxham and his chums.
Local councillor, John Warmisham, was the first to go public on the mess... Labelling Urban Splash "disgusting" and "disgraceful", he added "It's been horrendous...My message to residents of Langworthy and Seedley is that Urban Splash has let them down."
But Councillor Warmisham wasn't finished yet, calling the upside down houses "a gimmick" as he listed the problems with the estate... "water ingress, some of the interior stuff is not up to the standard it should be, there's parking issues, car crime because of the way the car parking has been done
"If you look across the road at the people who live there, they've had to put up with hoardings for years, it's disgraceful" he added "And every time I've attacked Urban Splash there's always been some sort of excuse." (see the full Salford Star article click here)
And Councillor Warmisham concluded: "I just find it abysmal that someone who tweets all the time about the awards they are winning, and they're doing this and that, have left this in Salford unfinished, and the people who live across the road from it with an eyesore for fifteen years. It's disgraceful
."
It certainly was and certainly is! Let's see if Urban Splash tweets about winning this wonderful award...
So ladies and gentlemen, stand on your heads, empty your pockets and give your houses up for the winner of the Salford Star Mary Burns Disgraceful Disgusting Urban Splash Award...
Urban Spl-a-a-a-sh!!!
We would love Councillor Warmisham to present this award so if Tom Bloxham would like to give a time, place and date for the handover or, in his absence, provide an acceptance speech for the people of Langworthy in the comments box below, that would be lovely.
