SWEARING COUNCILLOR TO BE MADE GOVERNOR OF MONTON GREEN PRIMARY SCHOOL

Swearing Eccles Councillor, Mike McCusker, is set to be made a governor of Monton Green Primary School next week, much to the disgust of opposition leader, Les Turner who says "I don't think it's a very good example to set..."

McCusker has been referred to Salford City Council's Monitoring Officer and his own Labour Party Chief Whip for social media comments on 'Tory pigs' and Fine Gael 't***s'.

Eccles Councillor, Mike McCusker, is set to be appointed a governor of Monton Green Primary School next week, despite being referred to both Salford City Council's Monitoring Officer and the Labour Party's Chief Whip over comments made on social media.

Labour Councillor McCusker, who is also Executive Support for Planning, Housing and Sustainable Development, first fell foul of the rules two weeks ago, when he made comments about 'Tory pigs' on social media. This was followed a few days later with another social media salvo against the Irish political party, Fine Gael, calling its members 'bastards' and 't***s'.

At last week's meeting of Salford Council, Conservative Councillor Karen Garrido told City Mayor Paul Dennett, that "I will not come to any meeting that that person is sat in...." unless he is 'sorted out'.

The Mayor responded: "I agree with you. I think all of us have to be careful about our language...This city Council has a social media policy and off the back of complaints recently made to me, I have reaffirmed the importance of that policy to every single member of the Labour group. And I know the example you specifically talked about and that's also been referred to our Chief Whip...."

Less than week later, Councillor McCusker is set to appointed to a position as a role model for very young children.

"I don't think it's a very good example to set, someone like that being a governor of a school; I wouldn't want my kid going there...even though my youngest is now 38!" Conservative Party opposition leader Councillor Les Turner told the Salford Star

"It all goes back to what you expect of your elected representative" he added "You expect them to uphold the code of conduct and I think the public expect us to be upstanding citizens and not using language as he has done. To me it's a bit of a farce.

"More worrying is Labour's attitude to this sort of thing" he said "If they go ahead, what does it say about the Labour Party and their procedures?"

sqwawk sqwawk indeed will the tory hospital closures and sacking of nurses and there non replacement at salford royal hospital i mean the real one on the adelphi now apartments /and ladywell eccles which looked after elderly patients now a shopping centre and numerous other hospitals around the salford area the jewish hospital /housing estate /northern housing estate mean with the impending corona virus epidemic on the way that the sick and ill mostly elderly will have no place to recover i fear the tory chickens are coming home to roost and through there tory policies of destruction of our NHS a lot of people could be at serious risk like all the other cuts and privatised services the slack as been removed from the system and we all may pay a heavy price for their free market madness .never enough nurses and never enough hospitals and a big thank you to all our nurses and care staff .

if tories had souls they would sell them like they have sold off all our industries rail water power do you have any shame just look what your evil vindictive policies are doing to the lives of decent people foodbanks no housing for families iooo homeless dead on the streets last year alone robbing peoples benefits through vicious sanctions pushing the most vulnerable and the mentally ill into poverty and early death insecure work pensioner poverty and the destroying of our public services on the alter of greed robbing money off people who bought there homes to pay for health care. the deliberate impoverishment inflicted on your fellow countrymen and women must make you so proud very soon the people of this country will kick your evil tory party out and i hope investigations are started in to aspects of your policies which have murdred sick disabled and the elderly people and wrecked many lives nasty tory party and nasty people thats the tories kick them out .

i was a student supported the miners picket lines collections and i remember cops at plank lane leigh abusing women and kids hitting them and pushing them about using disgusting language threatening to arrest them yes children slurp were you nacods or did you betray the num and your class by going into bickershaw or any other pit to pretend to work slurp i think you were one of them scabbing bastards who rode the judas bus you sound like one of the bleating scum bags the miners were right scargill was right the cause was just .

coal is still powering the country if it was not the lights would be out point is the coal being used is imported dirty coal a new coal mine is opening this year at whitehaven to produce coke to make cars and for steel production and cement for building purposes coal is also used in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries like it or not coal will be used for many years to come coal is also what you run your car on .in the 1980s this country was at the forefront in clean coal technology we could have been fuel self sufficient with an estimated 1000 years of reserves thatcher and co bulldosed this future into the ground no pensioners dead from the cold and families worrying weather to heat or eat .in 1984 the people who had the principle to fight for a decent society and were battered into the ground by the tory state for doing just that have been vindicated. glandon spong if we went through all the destruction wrought on the working class of this country by the free market it would take more space available on this site .where once we had good steady employment in salford in the mine /docks engineering manufacturing textiles a power station supplied by british coal all gone and now in place of the pit and the power station a prison to house salfords kids thrown on the scrapheap. and what of the some deluded fools think they have won there country back by voting tory well you cant get back what you never had what you are going to get are zero hour contracts universal discredit a wrecking of the NHS miserly pensions retirement age going up meaning many salfordians wont get a pension or retire they will be dead or be in such ill health they wont be able to live in dignity with many being forced to sell there houses for there care costs this is thatcher and boris the liars future britain and worse what thatcher did was break the concensus of the welfare state by brutal nasty violent means and britain is in a worse state for it we make nowt we import and 80 per cent of the economy is fiscal we are at the mercy of finance capital and the next crash when the people who voted tory will pay the costs . i sent a letter to boris asking if he would reimburse the miners pension fund and give back the billions the tories had taken out of it the nature of the work meant many miners never lived to receive it just one in ten not had a reply dont think i will because tories dont care and the misguided fools who had the stupidity to vote for them will soon find out TORIES LOWER THAN VERMIN . I notice Michael J Felse has become considerably detailed with his answers. I see a well rounded thinker. Refreshing and hope he gets to stand. But please tell me if he gets to be Mayor does the 8 Conservative Councillors automatically take all the cabinet jobs or will Michael have to accept the Labour Councillors into a number of cabinet posts. How will that work when they can’t even be nice to everyone. Who would be Deputy Mayor would Senior Officers have to be nutral. Thank you from Salford Resident and Conservative voter.

Paul Kelly - the recent GE must have past you by. Large chunks of Britain's old coalfields have just voted in Tory MP's . Even Leigh . You're fighting a conflict that is now becoming a distant fading memory for many people .People have moved on. You remind me of one of those Japanese soldiers they used to find in the jungle who refused to accept defeat. And even if , for arguments sake, some of the coal mines had some how survived into the new century the clamour for their closure would have overwhelming by now. Coal mining was doomed on any number of criteria.

36 years ago this week the great miners strike for jobs pits and communities began men women and children stood together to defend there way of life in the coalfield communities from thatchers tory party planned and instigated assault on britains coalmining industry and trade unionism .with her ruling class cohorts and supporters in the police judiciary and press they relentlessly turned this country in to a police state in pursuit of there agenda to close pits and deindusrialise this country and sell all our national assets to any bidder coal /gas /water /electric with members of the tory party becoming shareholders in our former nationalised industries rubbing there greedy hands with glee .this theft was won on the back of the destruction of our coalfield communities when men women and children were arrested starved and died trying to defend pit villages and towns from tory state thuggery and violence meted out against law abiding workers and there families whos only crime was fighting for the right to work to earn a decent living .36 years on we have to import power cars food and all our privatised assets are owned by foreign multi nationals whats left of the steel industry nearly dead car making gone ship building mostly gone and we have zero hours no contract jobs universal credit and the misery being caused by this fiasco sending families to food banks begging charity to survive rising homeless people dying on the streets all because of this rotten tory inhumanity with the same callousness that was given to the mining communities being now inflicted on the whole country i could use many names to call tories mostly unprintable but i would say to any body do not say sorry to any tory whatever the circumstances they should be treated with the utter contempt they deserve for the damage and the on going damage they have inflicted on the honest decent men women and children of this country . TORIES CONTEMPT TO YOU ALL YOU ARE LOWER THAN VERMIN .

So we've had a bit of clarification on one issue but what about the Irish stuff. He's clearly got a 'side' when it comes to Irish politics . He's not a secret shinner is he? Sinn Fein - the apologists for the IRA. The people who refused to condemn attacks on British service personnel. The political wing of the provos . I distinctly hope he's not a kindred spirit of these people. Maybe he could clarify on this issue. One or two of his electors might be interested if he's got a downer on the British armed services. He's not one of these Labour politicians that secretly hates Britain but won't actually admit it - is he?

See Arnold Rimmer comment below...Did you actually read the article? Even the councillor's own boss, the Mayor, has referred him to the party's Chief Whip. Plus the councillor swore again in a further social media post. Plus the original Star article did indeed put the 'Tory pigs' comment into context if you'd care to read it - even though the ignorant councillor never responded to the original request for a comment.

He didn't say Tory pig as an insult. He was paraphrasing a previous commenter. Does anybody read the facts anymore? The Star has even linked to their own article furthering the misrepresentation which they have said they know is wrong but as the Councillor won't speak to the Star, it's apparently OK to publish half stories. The MEN confirms what actually happened in their article.

As Whip of the Conservative Group, I expressed my deep concerns to the Chief Whip of the Labour Group about the fact that Cllr McCusker was even in the Council Chamber last week as he is currently under investigation for his totally inappropriate comments and language. I am horrified to now learn that he is taking on the role of Governor in a local primary school. This does not show that the Labour Group are taking these matters at all seriously. If any of the elected members of the Conservative Group had made such comments the Leader of the Group would have suspended them while the investigation was being carried out- and this is also what the Labour Group would have expected from us at the very least.
