SALFORD GENERAL ELECTION CANDIDATES ANNOUNCED
|

Star date: 15th November 2019 TORIES AND BREXIT PARTY TO STAND IN SALFORD General Election candidates for all three Salford seats have been published, and the Tories will face splitting their vote as they vie with the Brexit Party in all contests. All three Salford MPs - Graham Stringer, Barbara Keeley and Rebecca Long-Bailey - are standing, and some notable opponents are current Conservative Party Councillor Arnie Saunders for the Tories in Worsley and Eccles South, and Bryan Blears, nephew of former MP Hazel Blears, standing for the Green Party in Salford and Eccles. The final candidates to stand for Salford's three seats in the 12th December General Election have been announced, with no major surprises. All of the now mainstream parties are in the contest, and the inclusion of the Brexit Party means that the Tories face a split vote, as research suggests that the Farage front is taking votes off Conservatives rather than Labour. With huge majorities between 10,000 and 20,000 it's hard to see a tidal wave of change in the city but politics is getting stranger by the day... The full list of candidates... | @Kev She has done nothing. Yet Labour will still win. They are stuck in the 70's and do nothing for real people other than ignore us. No idea why you all keep voting for a party that you have such affinity to but do nothing for local issues. She cares more about being on TV and next to her "Comrade." Salford deserves better. A vote for any other party is a wasted vote in Salford because Labour will win and nothing will come from it other than us moaners having another good moan for the next 5 years that nothing changes under local Labour (council too - useless.) |

| The electorate of Salford will largely be an irrelevance in this election as usual. And Thank God for that. The election will be decided in constituencies where the level of education is higher and where people can think for themselves. And who can be trusted to make an informed and rational choice.Any area that elects Rebecca Wrong Daily as it's representative undermines the principle that people should be allowed a free vote. Truly she is a triumph of attitude over ability. It would be no good propelling her into power. She would surely fold under the sheer weight of imposter syndrome and cease to function in any capacity. |

| Vote Lib Dem even if you don't like them just to get our voting system replaced with a democratic one in the future.
You may need to wait until the next GE to get rid of them but at least then you can then vote for who you like rather than the current pointless FPTP system. |

| Amazing how in 2019 so many people can only discuss women politicians with reference to their physical appearance. If you want to discuss politics it might be better to do so having read some politics rather than spending your time buried in GQ or girlie mags.
As for Rebecca Long Bailey and Salford, I think given she's a potential government minister it would be a good idea to compare what the various party manifestos and policies say and at what this government has actually done, who is actually likely to win, and then look at how the people of Salford might be affected. Some hints: Universal Credit, cuts to local governmnment, the bedroom tax, anti union legislation, public transport, green issues...
If you still think the key question is how fit or otherwise various female fcandidates are then I refer you to one of the current prime minister's main obsessions (clue, a lot of his friends are merchant bankers). |

You see unlike you I don't have a Union background and a seat for wearing a red Roseete and little or no work. One win,100 votes away from taking Howards seat and some losses my record, My work, my finances, and a record of achievement you? lacking the bloody balls to even put your own name to your left wing shite. I rarely write on hear anymore and feel sorry for the people who have to listen to your crap. With Luck Corbyn and his give away Manifesto will be taken for what it is and with luck the people will not fall for it, Labour will take salford but fail across the country even you must except that, and next May people like me will fight on a platform of reality and openness and with luck like seats in Kersal Labour will stumble and may be we will see this city prosper. |

| Dearest Readers,
Last Thursday, having done my weekly shop at a non-local (to me) branch of a Yorkshire Supermarket in Swinton, me and my trusty turbo-powered scooter found ourselves outside the Official Notice Board of the Swinton Kremlin (aka Chez De-Nette).
Well…it was close of nominations for the General Election…so I must have subliminally headed off in that direction… or my scooter has an inbuilt integrated satnav/diary! Shame it didn’t stop further from the Official Notice Board because on the stroke of 4 o’clock out came that fashion role model and arbiter of taste, Councillor Merry, prancing like the Skegness Fisherman, and warbling “Happy Days are here again” in duo with His Graciousness The Mayor Paul Dennett; it was like a poor man’s “Star in their Eyes” version of Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballé murdering “Barcelona”!
Turning off my hearing aids before Cllr Merry hit the Cadenza and Crescendo with full force, I noticed he was carrying the “Statement of Persons Nominated” for the Salford and Eccles election and that for Worsley and Eccles South election was being carried by His Graciousness. “Freddie” and “Monserrat” pinned them to the Official Notice Board, then they waltzed back into the Kremlin just like Michelle Visage and Mike Bushell from “Strictly”.
So why were they soooo happy I wondered. I trundled my turboscooter to read the Notices, then realised the cause of their jollification. Evidently they were hoping to capture the Remainer Votes due to the (apparent) limited number of persons available to sign the Liberal Democrats papers. You see, Lib Dem Candidate in Worsley and Eccles South is also the Proposer for the Salford and Eccles Candidate, and the Salford and Eccles Candidate was also one his own Assentors. And due to Labour’s fence-sitting, hoping to get the brexiteers votes because The Brexit Party Candidate for Worsley and Eccles is the Seconder for their candidate in Salford and Eccles! Oh folly folly, the naïve thinking of “Freddie” and “Monserrat”, counting their votes before they’re cast – especially when I espied the names of the machiavellian “Sooty” and “Sweep” of Salford politics, Chris Barnes and Joe O’Neill as Assentors!
And it’s officially only Day 1!
Oh, I have to point out due to Election Law, there are other candidates and Parties standing too: Bryan Blears (Aunty Hazel’s nephew) for the Green Party, Attika Choudhary for the Conservatives from Aldershot (I wonder if she attended the Snipers College there and who does she have in her sights?) and Bekky Long Bailey for the Labour Party. I understand she wants “The Hokey Cokey” as her campaign theme song after previously stating that she would support the referendum result.
I better get back to the Salford Maximum Security Twilight Home for Bewildered Geriatrics and Retired Politicians before Curfew and my Brussels defrost! |

| What I'll do for Darren and Kev is phone Steptoe to see if he can juggle his lady candidates about, since were not allowed to have blokes anymore. How about Dianne Abbott? She seems very popular with all the male voters of Salford. How about Fat Emily. She'd sort em all out? How about that shifty looking granny from stockport? What about loudmouth jesse from Brum. I hear she might fancy a new seat, she is apparently fed up with her anti gay rights education constituants. | @kev opposition MPs can do F’all, the Tories have f’ed us all, the Brexit party are Tories so who do you suggest? Pointless! Vote Labour at least we will have an MP with some clout if they get in, but I doubt they will, either hung parliament or another 5 years of Tory cuts and tens of thousands more dead poor and elderly people, and the NHS sold off to the highest bidder. We KNOW that is the future of the NHS after Brexit with a Tory government, and they DONT deny it! |
