On Monday at 10am a judge will announce his verdict on Peel Holdings attempt to get a possession order to evict the Barton Moss Community Protection Camp from land it owns on the access road to the IGas exploratory drilling site (for more details see previous Salford Star articles – click here and click here).
The two day hearing has featured maps, Human Rights law, a farmer's field and the exact positioning of tents and caravans – and with the judgement spilling over until Monday it means that the Camp is safe this weekend, allowing activists to concentrate on Frack Free Greater Manchester's march and rally this Sunday, with the catchy title No to Fracking in Greater Manchester…No to Fracking Anywhere.
The march assembles at Piccadilly Gardens at 12:45pm* and, after a rally, meanders at 2pm through Manchester City Centre, via Portland Street, Peter Street and Deansgate, before ending at Cathedral Gardens for another rally.
