A major Salford talent competition full of qualifying rounds and open to anyone in the city begins tomorrow night at the Old Pint Pot pub on The Crescent. Acts will be battling it out to win an eventual first prize of £500.

Singers, MC's, DJ's, bands, actors, comedians, dancers , poets and anyone else with a talent will be taking part in the first qualifying round of Salford's Got Talent on Friday night. Winners of this heat will get two tickets for the Salford Musical Festival, and second prize is a meal for four at The Old Pint Pot. The top three acts will got through to the grand final at The Willows on 22nd September where a £500 prize is at stake.

Introducing tomorrow night's talent is Ed Blaney of the Salford Music Festival, and extra entertainment is provided by the Costa Del Salford Disco.

The whole talent competition is in support of Salford Against the Cuts and the next qualifying round is on 24th June at The Old Pint Pot – for details of how to enter just e-mail silkyproductions@yahoo.com
