It's top women's rights drama this month, what with the Bob Hoskins film Made In Dagenham, and now Mikron Theatre's Striking The Balance, inspired by the Dagenham machinists struggles too plus those of Belfast cleaners, Yorkshire dinner ladies and cooks in Liverpool.
Mikron's live show next Sunday afternoon chronicles three women's fight for equal pay over the three decades of the 60s, 70s and 80s, with original songs to match and appearances from Thatcher and Labour's own Red Queen, Barbara Castle.
Anything Mikron Theatre does tends to be ace, and this fast paced, turbulent, funny drama presented by the Working Class Movement Library and performed at Islington Mill should be no exception. Recommended.
