Highlights of the first Salford Music Festival include a R&B/Hip Hop night at The Hope Pub on Friday 10th starring Briggzy and Aslan AK with some special guest appearances, and tonight's gig at The Crescent starring Hanky Park and The Rainband. Although the whole line up of this delicatessen of Salford music sounds mint. Bands will be playing at pubs all over the city, and there's even a kids' funfair all day Saturday at the White Horse to go with the sounds.
Sunday 12th sees the Main Stage gig at The Ritz which runs from 3pm to 11pm where `Salford Meets Manchester' and stars The Fall, Salford Jets, Girl Peculiar and loads more bands plus DJ sets from Clint Boon, Terry Christian and others. This is the only paid gig at £15, although there are concessions. Everything else is free – and not a cent in support from Salford City Council.
"Salford Music Festival is all about the music and not about money" says organiser Ed Blaney "It's about time something like this happened in Salford."

The Plough from 8pm – Andy Darlington, Scouse Dave
