Salford has seen a large rise in new confirmed cases of coronavirus, with 14 new cases, compared to rises in low single figures the previous week. The total cumulative number of cases now stands at 1,371, up from 1,357 the previous day. It's the second highest rise in Greater Manchester, after Rochdale which had a rise of 16 cases.
Elsewhere in Greater Manchester, Manchester now has a total of 3,030 (up from 3,019), followed by Wigan with 2,147 (same), Oldham 1,905 (up from 1,901), Bolton 1,896 (up from 1,890), Rochdale 1,738 (up from 1,716), Stockport 1,656 (up from 1,650), Tameside 1,545 (up from 1,544), Bury 1,301 (up from 1,296), and Trafford 1,284 (up from 1,282).
There were no new virus-related deaths reported at Salford Royal Hospital.
