Salford has just one new confirmed case of coronavirus, taking the total to 930, as cases in Greater Manchester continue to stabilise...
Cases of the virus in Manchester now total 1,565 (up from 1,558), followed by Wigan with 1,202 (up from 1,199), Stockport 1,047 (down from 1,048?), Oldham 1,068 (up from 1,067), Bolton 1,013 (up from 1,009), Trafford 815 (up from 807), Rochdale 777 (up from 776), Bury 749 (up from 745) and Tameside 715 (up from 713).
There were no new deaths reported from Salford Royal Hospital.
Meanwhile, the tenth Salford Music Festival kicked off last night with DJ sets from Clint Boon and Ally Kidd Cameron playing loads of Mondays, Stone Roses and Madchester stuff. There were also live sets from, amongst others, Ali Horn, James Holt, Hughie Crawford, the Teckel All Stars from Germany, plus an interview with Mike Sweeney.
During a live interview with Janice Long, Hooky revealed that he was "scared to do anything" during the current pandemic as, while healthy, he has asthma, and has had pneumonia three times leaving scarring on his lungs.
As far as the lockdown went, however, he added that "old men do get a bit isolationist" but doing charity lockdown gigs, including the Salford Music Festival and the Hacienda livestream recently and overcoming the technical difficulties, was, together with his audience, helping to "find a way to make the whole thing bearable"...
...However, he added "it's never going to be the same again" and that gigs were the last on the list of the lockdown easing programme. On playing the Salford Music Festival Hooky concluded that it was "a lot like coming home", and paid tribute to Festival founder Ed Blaney, a "fucking lunatic with his heart in the right place"...
Hooky later went on to do an ace six song set featuring the best of Joy Division and New Order tracks including Love Will Tear Us Apart, Atmosphere, Blue Monday and Ceremony.
