Star date: 5th April 2020 KEIR STARMER IGNORES SALFORD MP FOR TOP JOBS New Labour Party Leader, Keir Starmer, has rejected and ejected Salford and Eccles MP Rebecca Long Bailey as he announced his shadow cabinet top jobs this afternoon. Salford and Eccles MP Rebecca Long Bailey was ignored by new Labour Party leader, Keir Stramer, when he announced senior members of his shadow cabinet this afternoon. The Salford MP was formerly shadow Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy in Jeremy Corbyn's shadow cabinet but when the new Labour leader announced new senior members of that cabinet, her name was ominously missing – although the role of shadow Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy has not been filled as yet. Rebecca Long Bailey polled just 27.6% of the vote for Labour Party leader, coming second in the race, but still had the backing of over 135,000 Party members...which one might assume would put her in line for a top shadow cabinet post. Lisa Nandy who polled 79,597 votes, or 16.2% of the poll, has been handed the role of shadow Foreign Secretary. Other members of the shadow cabinet include... Anneliese Dodds (Chancellor), Nick Thomas-Symonds (Home Secretary), Angela Rayner (Deputy Leader), Jon Ashworth (Health) and Nick Brown (Chief Whip)… Update: 6th April - Rebecca Long Bailey appointed shadow Education Secretary

It is a good thing for people to suggest the ridiculous giving us all some light entertainment at these difficult times. I hear no vaccine for a year maybe on the horizon. That means Government must look at online vote elections from Council Tax payers. With the local elections now due in May 2021 it gives enough time to compile. That will mean a 100% turn out. | APPARENTLY dominic raab is still able to wage a military war while johnson is hospitalised perhaps he can launch a missile and kill that pesky virus .the government have announced 750 million pounds in handouts to charities no doubt some deserve the money to maintain hospices and carer services and quite rightly should be given state aid however some of these charities have massive liquid assets and should not get a penny of taxpayers money to maintain the high wages that CEO AND EXECUTIVES receive . when this crisis is over and the accounts are settled and this government is held to account for its destruction of public services and neglect its despicable widening of the gap between the rich and poor and its lazy attitude and inept response to this crisis i hope that the tory party and its free market privatising acolytes are kicked into the rubbish bin of history along with the charity sector we want social justice not charity . |

This is a place where the working class used to vote Labour more religiously than they do in Salford.Stuart Drummond, a Salford educated lad and an independant,won election standing as a monkey 3 times in succession. | I would enjoy having the debate with wrote on why I see ours as a Great Country. Where the public join minds in society cohesion, with freedom and equality legal rights for all, work opportunities along with good education, health and wellbeing with real quality of life through peace and greater care towards all people in need even at a time when our lives need determination to conquer the unseen enemy. I am glad I live here, I even welcome the diverse opinions of different political parties bringing varied options into debate. I look forward to getting back to normal, seeing friends, enjoying our countryside, even getting beaten again and again in local elections would be a tonic because what matters is taking part to protect our way of life and make sure our country stays a great and caring place to live. |

| Alice is right here, there is something going on here. I understand Miss Becky was happy in the business secretary role, to be honest ,I thought she was still in it under Steptoe. That shifty Tosser Starmer has left that post unfilled for a purpose. If he gets plenty of stick from her mates on the left, then he'll give it her. If he gets a bit he won't.
