Salford now has 47 confirmed cases of coronavirus, up from the previous 31 cases. The city now has the highest number of cases in Greater Manchester, followed by Manchester and Stockport with 45 confirmed cases.
Oldham now has 42, Trafford 40, Tameside 35, Rochdale 29, Bury 23, Bolton 21and Wigan 14.
Meanwhile, tonight at 7pm, the People's Assembly will be doing a live streamed event on its social media platforms, Making Sense of the Crisis, with Laura Piddock, Kevin Courtney (NEU), Lindsey German (Stop The War), Dr Yannis Gourtsoannis and Grace Blakeley (economist). The broadcast will be trying to understand what the current crisis means for communities and what should be demanded from the Government to make sure no-one is left behind.
The event will stop at 7:55pm for a national Clap For Our Carers event, when people will be appearing on balconies, at front doors and windows to collectively applaud those on the front line of the NHS fighting against the virus. Loads of people in Salford are getting together to take part....
