Salford now has 31 confirmed cases of coronavirus, up by six on the previous day. Stockport now has the highest number of confirmed cases in Greater Manchester, with 42, followed by Manchester with 41, Oldham 34, Tameside 32, Trafford 31, Rochdale 24, Bolton 19, Bury 17 and Wigan 11.
The highest number of cases in England are in Hampshire, with 207, followed by Lambeth with 188 and Birmingham with 187.
Meanwhile, Nick Read, Group Chief Executive Officer of the Post Office, has put out a plea to customers...
"We know how important Post Office branches are to our customers" he writes "And we, alongside our postmasters and branch colleagues are doing all that we can to keep our branches open, so that we can continue to provide our products and services to you and your communities.
"At the moment, the majority of our branches are open as usual and our supply chain is running as normal" he adds "Our priority is to keep our customers, postmasters and colleagues safe and healthy. We have advised everyone working in our branches to practice good hand hygiene and we ask that our customers do the same, as well as maintaining a sensible distance between other customers and our colleagues...."
