This week, Show Racism the Red Card launches its annual competition to find the very best creative anti-racism messages in the UK .
Since the project launched over two decades ago, more than half a million young people have taken part in the competition, while it has been a springboard for schools to talk to pupils of all ages about racism and to get them to think around the issues.
The free to enter competition is looking for young people to produce original creative designs on the theme of anti-racism using a range of formats – from artwork, creative writing and film, to fashion designs and music.
Winning entries are shared by the charity in posters, publications, on its website and through social media, as well as featuring in the Show Racism the Red Card fundraising calendar.
The competition is backed by a host of sports stars, including Everton's Jordon Pickford, United captain Harry Maguire and Spurs stars Dele Alli and Harry Kane, and attending the launch this week will be Chelsea FC Women midfielder Anita Asante, England cricketer Monty Panesar, Sky Sports presenter Chris Kamara and former Scotland manager Alex McLeish.
It's also backed by an array of trade unions, including Unite, UNISON, GMB and the National Education Union (NEU)...
"We can't afford to be complacent and think racism is a thing of the past, it isn't" says UNISON general secretary Dave Prentis "Today, black footballers are being abused at football grounds and on social media and hostility towards black people in wider society is on the rise. Show Racism the Red Card is doing incredibly important work that's as relevant now as it's ever been."
"I'm immensely proud that UNISON is working with Show Racism the Red card to help young people challenge racism and celebrate the rich diversity that has made our country such a special place" he adds.
And Kevin Courtney, Joint General Secretary of the NEU, says: "Challenging racism must start with education. The NEU is proud to support the SRTRC schools competition because we know it showcases the fantastic work of teachers, who have risen to the challenge of the recent increase in hate and division."
Any school can enter but has to register by 28th February to take part, with final entries due in by 13th March.
