Local Government Scandal of the Decade Award

Salford City Council
Oh dear! What a year it's been for those who run the Salford Labour Party, with two of their own councillors resigning and leaving political bombs in their wake.
In February, respected Weaste councillor, Paul Wilson, didn't mess about at a full meeting of Salford Council, laying into local 'morally corrupt' Labour Party policies of "wasting money on expensive private consultants" and building unaffordable homes; and slating the reign of previous Salford City Mayor, Ian Stewart, "whose main achievement was to eradicate any kind of democracy that still existed in Salford Labour Party...whilst building a power base around patronage..."
Councillor Wilson then went on to accuse current Salford City Mayor Paul Dennett of perpetuating the process, arguing that he has "continued to throw money at vanity projects, such as the Salford's rugby stadium, expensive office blocks". He also accused Dennett of "hypocrisy", that had "seen him vote to sell off Council houses and then complain to the mainstream media we have no affordable homes left..." Tut, tut!
He then cited a whole list of allegations, ranging from 'bullying' to 'factions and patronage'...while accusing his colleagues of being 'fake socialists'..."I have tried to change this morally corrupt party from within by working with the current leadership" Councillor Wilson added "but it has proved impossible". Ouch!
How do you follow that up? Well, in March, Councillor Stephen Ord certainly tried, accusing the 'vile bullies' and 'Mafia' within Salford Labour Party at a full meeting of Salford Council...He went on to allege that the refusal of planning permission for the Crescent Police Station "is likely to turn out to be one of the local government scandals of the decade...
"There is a multi-million pound lawsuit being compiled as I speak and there is no doubt in my mind that criminal offences have been committed..." he added.
There is, indeed, a lawsuit going off but it's been kept very quiet, under the radar and swept under the carpet. Councillor Ord called for an independent inquiry into his allegations. But that, of course, hasn't happened (if anyone knows any details please get in touch with the Star!)
"I simply can't serve the people of Salford whilst bound and gagged by this dysfunctional Labour group" Councillor Ord added "This, and multiple other issues, has caused me no end of suffering and destroyed both my mental and physical health. For half of my current term of office I slept up to twenty hours a day and was left wondering on which beam I should hang myself from."
Shocking or what? And Councillor Ord isn't the only councillor driven to poor mental health under this current regime of smiley so-called 'Corbynista' types, or 'fake socialists'...
So ladies and gentlemen, go ''Ello, 'ello 'ello, what the fuck's going on here then?' for the winner of Local Government Scandal of the Decade Award...
