SALFORD CITY COLLEGE SUFFERS NINTH DAY OF STRIKE ACTION

Star date: 10th December 2019 'NO IDEAS' TO TRY AND RESOLVE SALFORD COLLEGE DISPUTE Today is the ninth day of strikes at Salford City College, with management not moving to try and resolve the dispute, as students suffer. The strike at Salford City College moved into its ninth day today, with the focus of protests at the City Skills site on Frederick Road. Staff are taking industrial action after the College's management refused to implement a nationally agreed deal on pay and conditions. And there's not much hope that the dispute is to be resolved in the near future, with yet more action promised by the National Education Union (NEU) after tomorrow's final day of strikes. "Nothing positive is emerging from the College leadership or management...no ideas, no suggestions, no moves whatsoever to try and resolve this dispute" the NEU's Judith Elderkin told the Salford Star this morning.
"After tomorrow, as a union, we will sit down with our regional officials and decide what the next phase of our campaign will be, as to whether there will be further strike action, or industrial action of any sort" she added. "We will be looking at the contract and certainly a lot of the goodwill and additional things that people do will be up for discussion because clearly an employer that is not treating its employees fairly and equitably with implementing a national pay award does not deserve such loyalty that they've previously enjoyed..." she explained. The centre of tomorrow's final day of action – for the time being - will be Pendleton Sixth Form College.

| Get on subject please people, talk about the SUBJECT above. Talk about the Teaching staff on strike stood in the rain, wet, damp and cold trying to get a better pay packet. £££. No talking tripe and crap about other people. Let's all get behind this people stood outside pendelton college and fredrick rd college .thanks. Merry Xmas. |

| Who were you taking money off at this festive season of goodwill to all men, Darren, you low rent "debt collector"? You pass the striking well paid teachers on your way to the home of society's flotsam and jetsam, the unemployed, single mothers, people who've been laid off ... And you collect your pound of flesh and at the end of the month you receive your reward, your two grand in wages, the second fruits of other people's financial misfortune ... and you come on here getting all sanctimonious and spouting out your piffle ... Acting like some smug Dickensian character, maybe Uriah Heap, or the Beadle of the Workhouse ... You disgust me, Darren. But not only me. You disgust All RIGHT THINKING PEOPLE.

| I passed there this morning at 10am and it was raining, cold and miserable. There was about 15 of em with BIG signs and there all looked in a GOOD MOOD, shouting,a few had horns and 1person was banging the drums. GOOD LUCK to them all to do this for better pay on a damp horrible day. Like I said in my previous comments, my boy goes to college next September and I want my lad to be teached by HAPPY teaching staff that are WELL PAID for what there do. Merry Xmas Salford people. |

| As an ESOL studesnt I left the college today because our teacher is on strike and the new teacher came to cover her . We need our teacher (Ruth )back.college is going to fail us. |
