Amateur drag queens will be competing this Thursday 12th December to become Salford's Drag Race superstar at Salford University in a frenzied fiesta open to students and non-students.
The event will emulate the incredibly popular RuPaul's Drag Race, where drag queens complete a number of inane challenges, from singing to strutting, to win zillions of fans and big prizes. Salford University's event is more down market but promises to be just as glitzy as the city's amateur drag queens enter the fray.
Salford's Drag Race has been created by music students Josh Gurr, Becca Hooper, Lewis Shevelan, Megan Tate and Jack Tyson and is being supported by the University of Salford LGBTQ+ Society, Salford Student Union and mental health charity MIND.
"I can't wait to see this event in action" says Salford University's LGBTQ+ support officer Adam Thomas "It's going to be a great night and a lot of fun, and it's great that the proceeds are all going to such a good charity."
If you like RuPaul et al get down there and support what should be a real night...
