Salford Council has launched a public consultation on Buile Hill Park, its Mansion and Banqueting Suite to "inform future vision and funding bids".
Questions range from how often residents use the park, to what they like and dislike about the park, what improvements they would like to see, how they feel about the condition of the Mansion, what they would like to see it used for in the future, what they would like to see in the depot area and what should happen to it in the short term, and whether the Banqueting Suite should be demolished...

Meanwhile, the Buile Hill Mansion Association, which has no affiliation to the Council, has recently been formed in yet another attempt to restore the Mansion...
"Our small group has one simple aim - to ensure Buile Hill Mansion is completely renovated and brought back into public use" says Chair, Paul Rupa "We are not aligned with any political group, property developer or Council. We have no hidden agenda - and we are all unpaid volunteers.
"We got together earlier this year" he explains "Our work builds on the back of several other attempts to get the issue of deterioration in Buile Hill Park (and the Mansion house) brought back into the public arena.
"We will work with any agency, including Salford Council (the custodians of the park and mansion) in order to raise awareness - and the resources - to realise this goal" he adds "Once the Mansion is renovated, we want to help create a self-funding community resource, that will benefit the citizens of Salford and its future generations. We want the park to remain just that - a park - a public place for all of us to enjoy and be proud of, and we want it brought 'back to life'.
"We are not naive and are well aware of the size of the task ahead" he concludes "We can only have success if we get the people of Salford behind us. Without their support, we risk yet another great Salford landmark being lost forever...like so many others before."
