"The beauty of this piece will break the sky and more..." Yoko Yoko Ono is one of the most influential artists in living memory, with her poetry, installations and creations way, way ahead of their time when she came to prominence in the 1960s and 70s. Two themes emerge from her work throughout her career – positivity and peace, and these come together again for Yoko's new commission, Bells For Peace, which opens the Manchester International Festival this Thursday 4th July. It's a totally free event, where everyone is invited to Cathedral Gardens at 6pm to send a message of peace to the world. There will be a people's orchestra of bells, designed and created at a series of workshops around Greater Manchester, although anyone can bring their own bell along. "Come and join together to send a message of peace to the world" says Yoko "The beauty of this piece will break the sky and more. Ring for peace! PEACE is POWER! I love you all."
Bells For Peace Thursday 4th July 6pm Cathedral Gardens (near Urbis) Corporation Street, Manchester M4 3BG After this stunning work, also check out the incredible Double Fantasy, John and Yoko exhibition, at the Museum of Liverpool. It's free, on until November and shows the stunning breadth and imagination of Yoko's work.

| Mr.Brexìt,Yoko Ono has a perfectly just and rational fear over what 2Mark Chapman would do if he was released.
As to the charge of hypocrisy, over the years,Yoko Ono has donated/raised millions of dollars for charities worldwide! Yoko Ono makes the world a better place! |

| Rossi, just be quiet, you have nothing of use to say other than slagging people off. Shush ok. Nobody’s interested. And Mark Chapman will die in jail and quite right too. |

| How typical that Leftie Ray would be licking the backside of Egg Yoko Ono. What a sterotypical little leftie our Ray is.
Yoko is a hypocrite. As was Saint John. Singing crap songs about imagining no possessions, when he owned two apartments in the Dakota Building, and used an air controlled room to store his many fur coats. And what about Mark Chapman, he's done over 40 years and spent much of that time as a prison punk. Yet whenever he comes up for parole, Yoko talks about how scared she is, and won't even address him wit his real name, always calling him The Subject, like he's The Man in the Iron Mask or something.
How your idols say something about you Ray. |

| What’s the betting the multi multi millionaire yoko Ono gives everyone a long boring speech on climate change, how capitalism is bad and the Tories are evil. Artist, your having a laugh, she’s where she is because of john Lennon, not by ability. |
