On Friday 28th June, there's a very special fundraising evening of music and art at Salford Lads Club to raise money for The Christie, Maggie's and Salford Lads Club.
The Rhythm of Life Choir, made up of The Christie Hospital and The Maggie Centre Choir, is the brainchild of Macmillan Cancer Nurse Specialist Ros Fox, and includes up to forty patients, staff and family members aiming to improve patients' mental health and well-being, and to create a feeling of togetherness.
The Choir performed in the recent series of Cold Feet as part of Jenny's (played by Fay Ripley) storyline, and Ros thought it would be a fantastic idea to organise a live performance at Salford Lads Club, where all the Cold Feet scenes were filmed.
The Choir will perform well known songs in a cappella harmony, followed by a solo set by Happy Mondays star Rowetta, before a joint finale collaboration.
"It's such an honour for me to sing with The Christie choir in such an iconic building" says Rowetta "The Christie has helped so many of my friends and their families and the scenes in the wonderful Cold Feet had me in tears. This will be a really special night and a beautiful way to raise money for The Christie and Maggie's."
On the night there will be a raffle with the top prize, donated by the Cold Feet team, for two adults to hang out on set, have lunch, meet some of the cast and crew and be extras in Cold Feet.
Meanwhile, The Christie Hospital's Art Group will be exhibiting a collection of its paintings on the night which will all be for sale, and there will be curries available to buy from Tampopo's pop-up stall in the venue's cafe, plus a selection of cakes.
