Last night hundreds of people attended a protest rally in Cathedral Gardens, Manchester, against US President Donald Trump's visit to the UK. There were songs and speeches and general horror that Britain had rolled out the red carpet for "that orange wasteman", as the new National Union of Students President, Zamzam Ibrahim called him... "Across the country we want to send a message to Downing Street and to remind that orange wasteman that he's not welcome here" she said, adding that the issues Trump stands for happen here too... "We need to recognise that detention centres are not a US issue, it happens here...restrictions on reproductive health care is not a US issue, ask the women in Northern Ireland, it happens here" she explained "It is critical that we make noise about Donald Trump but let's not forget the figures who have been complicit in what he stands for...We need to a send a message to Trump, Boris and May who play politics of hatred..." Indeed, the similarities between the policies of Trump and what is happening in the UK were highlighted by many speakers... "For me the main target is to tell the Tory Government we will have no influence from those Donald Trump policies in this country, and we will fight tooth and nail if they try to privatise our health service, if they continue to scapegoat our refugees" said Penny Hicks from Manchester People's Assembly "We're having none of that here..." The point was underlined by health worker Karen Reissmann... "After being told for the last ten years that we haven't got enough money to afford hospitals schools and housing we've suddenly found a spare £40million to give some sexist, racist, business orientated bigot a super duper holiday in this country" she said "It's out of order "The very few business things that he's fitting into his super duper holiday at our expense is to try and negotiate to get as much as possible of our public sector" she added "People like Trump are no different to the Boris Johnsons or Nigel Farages, who also want to destroy our health service if they think they can get away with it. "You look at the health system in America and I think 'Who could possibly want that sort of health service?'" she asked "It costs three times as much per person as it does to run the health service in Britain...If you are poor there are operations, tests and tablets that you can't have...Private health care is not good for anyone and for ordinary poor people it is pain, misery and death." Ian Allinson, President of Manchester TUC, told of a wave of strikes across the USA in response to Trump's policies, as education workers, from West Virginia to Tennessee, including teachers, bus drivers and canteen staff, have been "fantastically successful in rolling back the neo-liberal attacks on education". Two members of the American band Brass Against, who play Academy 3 tonight, also spoke and didn't hold back on their President, slating his policies on abortion rights and climate change... "The opposite of love is not hate; the opposite of love is fear" they said "Fight through the fear, believe in the love...we are the only people who can work together globally to break through this fucking nightmare...Fuck Trump! "Everybody needs to fight for all these rights, the moment you give up a right is the moment you stay there fighting and fighting to get it back" they concluded "Fight for love..." The evening ended with Manchester Councillor Pat Karney stating that "Manchester will always be united against Trump", while after the rally had ended there was a sit-down protest on Deansgate by some of the activists.

| @mr wrote, I’ll have to stop posting intelligent posts because you’ve use the race card, grow up you petulant little socialist child. So you advocate raiding third world countries for their nurses and doctors to prop up our NHS, we have thousands of people every year who leave school who would do these jobs, but why spend thousands training our own when we can just pinch some other countries desperately needed talent, who’ve spent thousands of pounds of there resources training them. But what Britain is short of is people to run kabab shops, taxi drivers, car washes, but I suppose kabab shops create work for the NHS, more obese people, more health problems, the more nurses and doctors we need. No mr wrote, what I’d do, is have a £25,000 a year minimum wage before anyone is allowed into the country, no matter what skin colour, Second, priority to people and countries who’s citizens would come in and fit into a western culture and not want protected status above that of the indigenous population as we are seeing at the moment with a certain group, who treat women and gays as second class citizens, fit in or ship out, if you want to call this racist, go ahead, gorge yourself on it, the word has lost its affect, it’s been over used for all the wrong reasons. The Labour Party used mass immigration to rub the rights nose in diversity, instead it destroyed the labour heartlands, the Labour Party abandoned the people it claimed to represent, it made the poorest even poorer it drove wages down for those at the bottom of the ladder, just look at any labour heartlands, all suffering deprivation, now they have to compete with third world cheap Labour and still the Labour Party want free open borders, but at who’s cost, not at the cost of the rich or our Labour MPs, if cheap immigrant labor were vying for MPs positions, we’d stop immigration over night. Ps, how do you know that Rossi wasn’t born here “you racist”. Also mr wrote you’ll find that Spain was once Islamic as was other parts of Europe and parts of France, but you’ll see, the Spanish people have dark skin, as their Islamic captors had back in the day and I have no problem with Spanish people coming or living here, and as said they have brown skin and they have the same western culturural values, they don’t ask for preferential treatment, they fit in. But for the hard of thinking, this is racist. And European women
are some of the most beautiful in the world, not ashamed to say so. In fact Arabian slave ships used to raid British and European coastal communities around the 16 century, for white women “the white slave trade” a fact people like to overlook when talking about slavery, we talk about black slavery, but forget about the white slavery that went on in history. Maybe we can have a white slavery month, so children can learn about the white slave trade. |

| @mrbrexit, so saying I don’t understand why someone not born in this country would vote to close our borders is NOT racist! Your comments on the other hand are not only racist but extremely misogynistic (google it) and no wonder you love Trump so much! You want to keep allowing Europeans in because you find the women attractive!?!?!?! WTF!!!! So I take it you mean people of colour aren’t and they are not welcome?!? Well good luck filling the doctor and nurse jobs!!! If you haven’t noticed we NEED people from all over the world to fill gaps in our specialised workplace. And don’t tell me there’s enough of ‘our own people’ to fill them because if there are, then why oh why oh why do they not come for the interviews??? It is always people born overseas, and there aren’t minimum wage jobs, they are £25k plus jobs. So MrBrexit thanks for posting, not only have you shown yourself once again to be racist but you can now add misogyny to the list. (Ps this is why Boris doesn’t want to do media interviews at the moment, because when pushed, his true racist, misogynistic and rancid self will appear!). Done with this thread, good day. |

| Of course Trump is an arsehole. He is one of the biggest arseholes in the world. But in our city, we have a strong tradition of welcoming arseholes from all over the world with total disregard to race, creed or colour. An experienced political arsehole like him, well we could sign him on for our special team of arseholes that we keep in swinton. Anyway whats wrong with Trump coming here? No matter what he says or does,he has a right to come here. His mother was Scotish, and that makes Trump British as you or I. |

| Mr.Brexit,I agree with you that we don't have Classical Competitive Capitalism in Britain! Instead ,we have Thatcherite Hyper Finance Capitalism - where the majority of the population are exploited to enrich a tiny elite!
Defenders of this exploitative system are also the chief drivers of Brexit;they objected to the EU because a) they object to workers having basic rights guaranteed by European Law and b) they rightly concede that the Thatcherite Casino Gulag cannot compete,in terms of prosperity/profitability,
with German Rhineland Capitalism !
If workers don't put up a fight, then Brexit is going to lead to Thatcherism 2.0! |

| So this is why mr wrote, sorry rayofsunshine a Labour councillor wants to stay in the EU, it’s not on a so called fantasy moral issues, it’s because he won’t be able to get any more cheap labor for his 50p sweat shops when we come out, this blokes a Phillip green in the making, listen my friend (I say this loosely) I believe in capitalism, but what we have today is just pure greed and evil, if I was a business owner, making shed loads of money, ld pay my workers a proper wage, a wage that helps to buy a home and gives them a decent standard of living, this is what builds a decent society and communities. Today’s capitalism just like today’s socialism and most of the people who represent it ie tony Blair, David cameron and their like are evil scum, both today’s fake capitalism and socialism is about keeping the majority of the people in this country and the world down at heel, “true capitalism” is about freeing people to become whatever they want to become, now it’s about the privileged few, not the many. Ps mr wrote, on the racist comment you made about mr Rossi. As a Brexiteer, just like all the other Brexiteers, I voted to take back our laws, our borders , and our culture. It wasn’t about stopping all foreigners from coming in, and especially not about stopping people from Europe, I’ve no problem with people from Europe coming to this country, they generally fit straight into our culture, having come from a similar culture and background themselves. As a Brexiteer, I want other European countries to take back their laws, borders, cultures and be proud of who they are and of their cultures, as I’m of mine. I love the French language, it’s the worlds sexiest language (thought can’t speak it myself) the French women like the Italian, Spanish, Danish, and many other women of Europe are some of the most beautiful in the world. We Brexiteers aren’t anti European, we are anti European Unionists, each European country must be allowed to keep its own identity and culture, this is what makes Europe great, our different cultures. Whether mr Rossi is 1-2 or 3 generation Italian, he’s welcome in Britain, like all true Europeans, he shares our culture and our values and believes in democracy, when you promise a vote, you stand by it, you don’t have a hissy fit and demand another because it didn’t go your way.

Like I’ve said mr wrote, you were never in a million years a Brexiteer. If your saying you were a leave voter and are now not, should we be giving votes to people who are hard of thought or thinking, you say you run a business, but can’t think for yourself, must be a struggling business if the owner can’t make an informed decision. And @mrbrexit 1) I voted leave, and your comment just proves you chat sh*t. 2) I’m in business and in negotiations if one side has more clout then concessions have to be made by the weaker side. That is simple. Not sure if you have noticed but we are a very tiny isolated island and there’s a world out there much bigger than us.
We were fed lies by ALL leave politicians, and I know for sure that come a second referendum the UK public will vote to remain.
It’s also a fact that a big percentage of leave voters (OAPs) are now dead, and there is a big percentage of young people who couldn’t vote that now can, which will totally sway the vote. In fact they need to be listened to more than the pensioners who won’t be alive to fall foul of life post Brexit.

Apart from allowing for out-and-out acquisition of NHS Services, the Trùmp Administration is openly pressuring the NHS to pay more for American Pharmaceuticals. If successful, these price hikes would undermine NHS Finances!
Furthermore,it is well known that many American Big Data Companies are anxious to get hold of NHS Clinical Data - they seek to monetise the information held on individuals and their health. |

And please spare me the rant on the job losses at the car engine factory, these are being lost because of climate change warriors and there fear mongering, the majority of the engines they make are diesel engines, a big no no with the climate change warriors, these jobs were lost because of the climate change nuts, not because of brexit, but I’m sure the climate nuts will be quick to link it to brexit. |

| @wrote. One, I don’t think you were ever a leave voter, this is part of the leftist mined games you lot play. Two, in trade negotiations, everything is on the table, then you trade, the NHS will be taken off the table right at the beginning and the things the the Americans don’t want to trade with, will also be taken off the table, it’s very simple, it’s called trading, it’s the description in the title “trade”, I know it’s hard for you lefties to keep up with, look it up in a dictionary, simples, like lefties. At the moment mr wrote the NHS is around 5% privatised, 3% under the socialist Labour Party, by brown and Blair and 2% under Tories by I believe Cameron, and if I’m right, then this says it was the socialist Labour Party who initiated the privatisation of the NHS, not the Tories, and remember mr wrote who brought in PFI, that’s right, the Labour Party., now we’re paying hundreds of millions of pounds in interest to Labour Party businesses friends for schools and hospitals?. Just off topic, mr wrote. I wrote on this site, but wasn’t printed, it was kind of a cheeky question and I realise why it wasn’t printed, seeing the Salford Star is socialist leaning online magazine, seeing the Labour Party is very pro climate change party and into banning fossil fuels, if the coal mines in this country were still open today, would the Labour Party campaign to close them down on the grounds of climate change and to this point, wasn’t Margaret Thatcher a visionary on climate change by closing the pits and in doing so, saving the Labour Party the embarrassment of having to close the pits themselves. Just a thought, but an interesting though, don’t you think. Ps mr wrote, name any of the bad thing that the Labour Party says the Tories have done to this country, name a few they reversed when they were in power, did they reopen the pits, did they renationalise the utility companies that were privatised under the Tories, most of the labour front bench are probably sitting on the boards of these companies earning a nice little packet for their old age, just look at Salford labour council, all champagne socialists. Do as we say, not as we do. |

| President trump, it is clear that old Donald has a case of early onset dementia (or not so early in his case), he says exactly what he’s thinking and disregards the consequences. The NHS WILL be on the table post brexit, the US ambassador said do, as did Trump. Yes he retracted it but only to stop a political bomb going off. He will have been advised to pay lip service and retract it. Facts are that the NHS won’t be safe after Brexit, we were absolutely lied to by the Leave campaign and I for one am sorry that I listened to the lies and voted out!
We need a second referendum because all the people o know who voted leave will change their vote. I couldn’t actually give a fig for all those in their 70s and 80s who voted leave, it won’t affect them when they are dead, but as someone in my 40s Brexit will harm me and my family. We would all vote remain now we know the truth.
A trade deal with the US after Brexit would benefit them far more than it would us. ALL of the economists are now saying the same. Post Brexit, the UK is screwed! |

Watched the bbc when she was confronted on the issue, looked very nervous and guilty, went on a rant about the brexit party being divisive, then got interviewed about her skeletons in the cupboard. Seems a very dodgy labour MP in Peterborough got replaced by another dodgy labour union backed MP. Also comes out that a person who went to prison for electoral fraud, helping labour in Peterborough, was allowed by the Labour Party in Peterborough to help with the election. The postal votes need to be looked in to, in Peterborough. We know the Labour Party is a big advocate of postal vote, wonder why? |
