From Thursday 30th May until Sunday 2nd June, the Quays Festival will be bringing free spectacular entertainment to Salford Quays.
Throughout the duration, Arboria, by Architects of Air, will be at the MediaCityUK Piazza, and is described as "a sculpture people enter to be moved to a sense of wonder at the beauty of light and colour". It's got three main domes, each eight metres high, and has a series of three dimensional 'trees' and giant domes, complete with sounds by Alice Eldridge based on experiences in the Ecuadorian Cloud Forest.
Meanwhile, Igor Urzelai and Moreno Solinas will be creating 'solo movement explorations in response to the space they are in' and will perform inside the Arboria.
At 5:30pm on Sunday 2nd June, high wire performer, Chris Bullzini, will set off on a two hundred metre long journey across the water from a tower near The Alchemist restaurant to Media City.
"I need to be ready for all and every possible danger or distraction" says Chris "We spend a huge amount of time researching each venue. This is a very big event and I need to be totally focussed. Being a high wire walker is a life choice. It is what I am as well as what I do."
In the build up to Chris Bullzini's High Wire Walk there will be a series of Circus Workshops by Skylight Circus Arts, in which people can learn secrets of circus performers and experience tight wire skills for themselves.
