‘NO PLACE FOR RACISM AND FASCISM IN SALFORD’ SAY CAMPAIGNERS AT BEXLEY SQUARE

Star date: 28th April 2019

'NO PLACE FOR POLITICS OF HATE'

This morning, at a very short notice rally at Bexley Square, a massive banner was unfurled stating 'No To Tommy Robinson; No To Fascism', as speakers railed against the far right activist who is making an appearance at Salford Quays this afternoon.

"Tommy Robinson has no place in our community" said MEP Julie Ward, urging people to use their vote in the Euro elections to ensure he is not elected "His politics of hate are a total anathema to everything we believe".

This morning, despite very short notice, a few dozen people rallied at Bexley Square to give out the message that Tommy Robinson is not welcome in Salford...

As a huge 'No To Tommy Robinson; No To Fascism' banner was unfurled, speakers underlined the point that people should use their votes in the forthcoming European Election to ensure that Robinson does not get elected as a Euro MP via the regional proportional representation system.

"Tommy Robinson and racism are not welcome whatsoever in Salford" said Alec McFadden of UNISON and the Salford Unemployed and Community Resource Centre "We are totally opposed to the politics that were prevalent in Europe in 1939; racism and fascism that killed millions and millions of people."

Ameen Hadi, from Salford City UNISON and Stand up To Racism, added: "The reason why we have to take this threat seriously is that, unfortunately, we have a history in the North West of Nick Griffin and the BNP managing in the past, on a low turnout, to become elected representatives for all of us and we do not want a Nazi representing us in the European Parliament.

"We don't want a Nazi to claim that he is somehow popular, and we do not want the growth of the far right in this country spread like in Europe" he added "We need to do everything in our power to encourage people to vote. Whether you're Leave or Remain you might have misgivings about what is going on in the political system but if there's any reason to vote in the European elections this is the reason; to stop someone like Tommy Robinson getting elected.

"We should not take this lightly" he explained "132,000 votes saw Nick Griffin elected so we need to make sure everyone is campaigning to stop him getting elected. We know that they start with minorities but we also know they will come for all of us eventually. That is what Nazism and fascism is. We need to mobilise everyone to get the message out, to vote on 23rd May to make sure Tommy Robinson doesn't get elected."

Salford Labour Councillor, Sam Bellamy, underlined the point: "I'm proud to have grown up with a Muslim community, I'm proud to have grown up with all the communities we have in Salford" she said "Tommy Robinson is in the wrong place, we're proud of our heritage here and to vote for him would be a vote for a Nazi basically. Don't vote for him and get him out of our city."

North West MEP, Julie Ward, added: "We all agree that Tommy Robinson has no place in our community. His politics of hate are a total anathema to everything we believe...We've got four weeks to spread the message, to make people understand the power of their vote at the ballot box. This time round it is not an option, we have to make sure that everyone gets out to vote..."

Bob the regular, the fact that Tommy Robinson committed fraud makes me wonder what other crimes he is capable of? This breach of trust, having a criminal conviction, should bar Robinson from public office. Incidentally,Bob,I think Peter Mandelson wasn't "a fit and proper person" - he's a creep, poseur and influence peddler! As to the idea that Crooked Robo could become a champion of workers - don 't make me laugh! Historically, when fascists took power,in Germany,Italy and Spain, workers were reduced to the status of "paid slaves"! Post Script. Can Jews also be fascists? There were in the past Źionists who were fascists, such as Jablosky! In current times, unlike the 1930's,fascists scapegoat muslims rather than Jews! I repeat,Rebel Media is a sewer of fascist hatred which needs to be exposed and opposed af every opportunity ! In the struggle against evil there can be no neutrals or mealy mouthed liberals!

Just had a look at that Tommy Robinson fraud case our Ray mentions. Its nothing really ,he just told a few porkies to get a better mortgage deal. Everyone does that. What about other prominent politicians who swig strong booze on the tube? Salford politicians who watch tv without a licence. should they be banned from office. Also while we are on about mortgage fraud ,telling lies on mortgage applications, what about Lord mandleson, Blairs best mate. He did it for more cash and did not even get charged. Like I have said ,Tommy Robinson is not for me. I won't vote for him, but the fact of the matter is, plenty of people in Salford do,I am fed up argueing with them about him, and there is a council seat coming up,so if Tommy fancies a career in politics why not try here. It will put the cat among the pigeons. The thing is with people like Tommy Robinson is that they never tell lies. If you check out what they say, it is always true. This is why all the other politicians do not like them.If they told lies, they would easy get caught out.

Our Ray must be loosing his marbles.Socialist thinkspeak seems to have got to him. He has fell for this like a ton of bricks ,like Iknew he would. Rebel media is run by Ezra Levant and Brian Lilley. These two guys are prominent Jewish people in america and well known supporters of the Irael/ Zionist cause and senior members of an organisation called the Jewish defence league, which roots out holocaust deniers and anti-semitic politicians ect,in the States. There is no way these people would give tuppence to a "Nazi". If by any chance Tommy Robinson is a nazi, he must be the most stupid one ever. There are pictures on the net of him sat on an Israeli tank in the Golan heights holding a machine gun. The Golan heights are a high security zone controlled by the Israeli army. The government of Israel, is extreemly careful about who even gets into Israel, unlike ours which lets evry terrorist of the world in. The last nazi to get into israel as i understand it was Adolph Eichman, but he was a special guest of mossad. With regard to tthe anti -semitic row with corbyn, it seems like he has taken to hide behind Miss Beckys skirt. She was on You tube before speaking up for her boss. Perhaps she forgot she represents Salford and that local elections are in the morning. Nothing like labour stupidity.

Bob the regular, you ask about the hate factory paying Tommy Robinson £10000+ a month to spew hate speech? The web site is called Rebel Media and is owned by ex employees of Rupert Murdoch. The site encourages contributions particularly from Islamaphobes and out-and-out Fascists, such as Tommy Robinson ! Do you agree with me,Bob,that convicted fraudsters , such as Tommy Robinson, shouldn't be allowed to stand for election?

The thing about Tommy Robinson is that he's a foot soldier, out there on the streets. He's tough, but he's also intelligent. He's a populist, and people like him. Unlike Ed Milliband, Tommy could eat a bacon butty and not look like a freak. What scares the powers that be is how potentially popular Tommy could become. A feisty and intelligent man with the common touch, a man who it's hard for people to dislike ... such men scare the establishment. And that's why they erroneously describe him as a Nazi, or make out that he's some kind of gangster. All that this does is show the massive gulf between the out of touch establishment parties, and their muppets such as Rayofsunshine, and the vast mass of ordinary everyday people.

just this minute watched newsnight. The bit where they have the round up on whats in the morning papers. Seems our Rays best pal Corbyn is in trouble for writing a forward for a re published book that says anti -semitic things. Does that make Corbyn a nazi in Rays eyes? If it does, can our Ray tell all the many labour voters here not to vote for this vile nazi party? they will not be getting my vote, but I bet you've all guessed that already. By the way ,good luck Joe and Mary, you never know.

Why is everyone ganging up on our Ray? You should all know by now how he puts his labour mouth into gear before his labour brain goes into gear. They are all the same, they cannot help it.All that is required to put people like him in his place is reasoned arguement. For instance,Ray spouts that Tommy robinson is a Nazi, and gets ten grand a month from some "ultra right wing american group". I know who he is talking about, if Ray cares to say who this group are , then it will be obvious to all that Tommy Robinson is not a nazi. Come on Ray tell em.

I'm just sitting here, listening to the great Mavis Staples singing that civil rights anthem, We Shall Not Be Moved, and it's great, just like Mavis, and in a few minutes I'll be going to The Gateway to look for a job on Find-A-Job, cos I ... I need my JSA; and yet still, Rayofsunshine's totalitarian Stalinist idea that in a democracy, freedom of speech should only be available to those whom he believes worthy, well, it's just hard for me to come to terms with. Ray, you swore at me and said that I was a Nazi apologist, and that my mask had slipped. Absolute popycock. I simply believe in freedom of speech. But from your words, I feel that I'm not alone in now believing that you don't, not unless the people that are speaking are saying things that you find acceptable, which in your fantasy island world would render freedom of speech as "Freedom of Speech, but only if RayofSunshine can tolerate what you say". To most people that is RANK HYPOCRISY!

Ray, Tommy Robbo is against illegal immigration and Islamic fundamentalism. Does this make him a Nazi fascist to you? If the answer is yes, then somebody should call an ambulance quickly, for you need treatment. This is the thing Ray, almost everyone in the UK believes that Islamic fundamentalism is a cause for concern. Equally, the 17 million brexit voters have deep concerns over illegal immigration. Would you, as a dyed in the wool Labourite describe all of those citizens as Nazis? If the answer is yes, then yet again you show how completely out of touch the Labour Party is in these times. Politically, Labour are now an irrelevance, and I doubt of they will win an election ever again.

Rayofsunshine - That isn’t how you fight ideas and ideology, you challenge them. When you deny freedom speech to individuals or groups, you inadvertently create oxygen for them to prosper. I’ve told you this before and you continue to advocate silencing them. Besides being intellectually lazy - because it makes you look as if you can’t scrape together a coherent opposing argument - it doesn’t work. If that course of action worked then we wouldn’t be seeing the rise in these groups.

Rossi, you lumpen twat, you've let your mask slip - you've exposed yourself as a nazi apologist! Consider the following facts about Tommy Robinson aka Stephen Yaxley Leonard. I) Robinson is paid over £10k a month by an American Ultra Right Web Site. II) He's been convicted of mortgage fraud. Should someone with a criminal conviction be allowed to stand in an election? III) Robinson has been caught trying to nobble a jury hearing a criminal case! The facts speak for themselves;Robinson is a thug and convicted criminal;he must be opposed by all means necessary!

I never ceased to be amazed by these democracy loving and rabid foaming at the mouth left wingers, who without fail invoke Godwins Law to point the finger at someone with whom they disagree, and label them a Nazi. Salford Labour Councillor Sam Bellamy I am talking about you. If you had any knowledge of Tommy Robinson you would know that he is very pro Israeli, thus he is a bit of a Zionist. Whereas as we all know, it has been the Labour Party which has been proven time and again to be anti semetic. I'm not a supporter of Tommy Robinson by any means, but what I will say is that he is fearless, and in his work as an investigative reporter, he would often venture to places that most people would fear to go. I will also say that he's faithful to what he believes to the point of being willing to go to prison for it. Like I say I'm not a supporter and so wouldn't vote for him, but in a democratic society he has as much right to be heard as anyone standing for election from the mainstream parties. So let him be heard and let the electorate decide. After all, this is what democracy is all about. And treat the electorate with some respect. Let them make their own minds up. They're adults, not little children. Treat them as such and respect their voting decisions - regardless of who they vote for.

The Picture sums up the cause, no one cares. Apart from a few cranks and Union flag wavers. Talk to the people in the street those without jobs, crawling to food banks to feed their families, living in bedsits if their lucky wondering do they have enough to pay the next bill. Charity begins at home, people are struggling and sadly I believe in looking after our own. To long have we been dump for anyone able to get here legal or otherwise.

SALFORD STAR – 15 YEARS OF ATTITUDE AND LOVE XXX

The Salford Star closes tonight after 15 years of giving the community a voice, holding power to account and bigging up all the great things that have happened in the city.

Thousands of people in Salford have been involved in one way or another with the Star and we'd like to thank them all. Salford is a very special city and, hopefully, we've given it a very special community publication.

THREATS, LIES, FEAR AND LOATHING IN SALFORD...

They will try to discredit you, block information and shut you down. Here the Salford Star editor, Stephen Kingston, looks at how democracy perished badly under the Salford mayoral system.

THE HUMAN COST OF REGENERATION

The Griffiths brothers of Higher Broughton are kind of infamous as the only people to be forcefully evicted from their house as part of the Pathfinder 'housing market renewal' project during the first decade of the 21st Century.

Here, Guy Griffiths, now living in 'sunny' north Wales and one of the main inspirations for the Salford Star's creation, writes the second part his own personal view of the Government project that devastated communities throughout Central Salford.
