MANCHESTER LIB DEMS LAUNCH INCREDIBLY TITLED 'NOT PUTTING UP WITH THIS SH*T ANYMORE’ ELECTION MANIFESTO!

Star date: 26th March 2019

HILARIOUSLY TITLED ELECTION DOC FROM LIB DEMS

Over the border in Manchester, the Lib Dems have launched their local election manifesto with the hilarious but to-the-point title... 'Not Putting Up With This Sh*t Anymore'!

"It is a vision created by people who woke up one day and thought, 'You know what? I'm not putting up with this anymore'" says Lib Dem Leader, John Leech.

Full details here...

The Lib Dems, who have been trounced in Salford, are fairing slightly better over the border in Manchester where they have a couple of councillors making a big noise of opposition to Manchester Council's huge Labour Party majority.

Their councillors have caused all manner of bust ups in the Council chamber and beyond, and last night the party launched its local election manifesto, with the salient title ... 'Not Putting Up With This Sh*t Anymore'!

Revealing the manifesto at The Pen and Pencil in Manchester last night Lib Dem Leader, John Leech said...

"I am so sick and tired of working in a town hall that implements the most right-wing agenda in the country, so we've laid out exactly the kind of city we will build from Day One; a tolerant, compassionate and transparent city that works for everyone.

"It is a vision created by people who woke up one day and thought, 'You know what? I'm not putting up with this anymore'" he added "And if you too get to the end of our manifesto – or perhaps earlier – and also think 'Yep, you know what? I'm not putting up with this anymore either,' then it's time to join us and fight for our city."

The 'Not Putting Up With This Sh*t Anymore' manifesto features five key pledges, including 'promises to immediately scrap the controversial Homeless Tax, reverse Labour's 22% Council Tax increase for the least well off and back a People's Vote'...

The independent Salford Star does not endorse any political party...this was just too funny to ignore!

Lib Dem’s? Now that’s a party I wouldn’t trust after being a supporter for 20 years and then they jump into bed with the Tories. Though I’m sure the fact that Clegg was offered Deputy PM had nothing to do with it..... no long term planning from the Cleggs, knowing he would be more bankable as Deputy PM than as leader of a dead party....and look at him now on his Million dollar a year Facebook salary. I would trust the Tories more than I would trust the Lib Dem’s!

Once again the Lib Dems try to attack Labour from the left with their 'most right-wing agenda in the country' nonsense. In 2010 they put pictures of Gordon Brown with Thatcher on their leaflets and a few weeks later decided to prop up a rightwing Tory government.

Lib Dems deserved better treatment from the voting public. The country was spending an eye watering 130 billion a year more than it was taking in when the coalition took power and it was incumbent on all sensible politicians to step up to the plate and do something about it. But the backlash disproportionately hit the Liberals . And it still does now.

The lib dems were the authors of their own misfortune. They had a great leader ,Charles kennedy who the public liked and respected and he took their seats from about 12 to 58. To be fair, it was said he liked the drink a bit to much, but the same can be said of a lot more politicians, Thatcher for one and Churchill another. The lib dems did well all over the place, even making great inroads under Stormin Norman here in Salford who got within 2000 votes of the iron chipmunk in the general election. They got rid of Kennedy and put Clegg in .Even a sceptic like me was fooled by that two faced turd Clegg. He went in with the Torys and the rest is history. Give us another Kennedy or Ashdown ,and your future will be bright once more, it should not be hard given the crap the tories and labour come up with

SALFORD STAR – 15 YEARS OF ATTITUDE AND LOVE XXX

The Salford Star closes tonight after 15 years of giving the community a voice, holding power to account and bigging up all the great things that have happened in the city.

Thousands of people in Salford have been involved in one way or another with the Star and we'd like to thank them all. Salford is a very special city and, hopefully, we've given it a very special community publication.

THREATS, LIES, FEAR AND LOATHING IN SALFORD...

Today, the Salford Star shuts down but we write this article as a warning to others who may follow on the pitfalls of founding a genuine publication that aims to give the community a voice and hold public bodies up to account.

They will try to discredit you, block information and shut you down. Here the Salford Star editor, Stephen Kingston, looks at how democracy perished badly under the Salford mayoral system.

THEY WILL TRY TO DISCREDIT YOU...TO BLOCK YOU, TO SHUT YOU DOWN

We are almost at the final closure of the Salford Star but we write this article as a warning to others who may follow on the pitfalls of founding a genuine publication that aims to give the community a voice and hold public bodies up to account.

They will try to discredit you, block information and shut you down. In South America they just blow up the offices of journalists that don't play the game. Here they just financially assassinate you...

SALFORD STAR CLOSURE – GUY GRIFFITHS ON THE HUMAN COST OF PATHFINDER DEMOLITIONS

Star date: 16th May 2021

THE HUMAN COST OF REGENERATION

The Griffiths brothers of Higher Broughton are kind of infamous as the only people to be forcefully evicted from their house as part of the Pathfinder 'housing market renewal' project during the first decade of the 21st Century.

Here, Guy Griffiths, now living in 'sunny' north Wales and one of the main inspirations for the Salford Star's creation, writes the second part his own personal view of the Government project that devastated communities throughout Central Salford.
