Welcome to Ten Years Of Joy...a brand new media project run by Salford Star parent company Mary Burns, with the Broughton Trust...and maybe a touch of the Zebedees, as we invite twenty people only onto a magic media roundabout that will take you to places and spaces and crazies, with the only limit your imagination...

Ladies and gentlemen of Salford; may we present to you Ten Years Of Joy!

Why Ten Years Of Joy? Because a very experienced elderly lady said recently on someone's 60th birthday that they had 'ten years of joy left...make the most of it!'

We can't offer you the full ten years but we can offer twenty lucky people a one year kickstart of happiness on a magic media roundabout that has no limits. You decide where it stops.

This is for people over fifty who maybe feel isolated, alienated, at a loss...but know there's a cheeky, mischievous spark within that's looking for a fun way out.

Ten Years Of Joy is brought to you by the makers of the Salford Star, via parent company Mary Burns Community Group, and ace Lower Broughton charity, the Broughton Trust. It's a fully funded wild ride where anything can happen...and you get to choose!

We can make cheeky videos, magazines, artworks, sitcoms, films, freaky stuff, fun stuff, life-changing, place-changing, impact stuff...We can do anything, about anything....oh and we've got the people to make it happen. We got ace artists on board, video makers, graphics creators, journalists...God, we even got Nigel Pivaro!

What the hell is this? We don't know! But for twenty lucky fed-up, sitting in the house all day people we're all going to find out!

This is the Salford arm of the project, so it's for Salford people only. We also have projects running in Moss Side and Bolton, which are also open to anyone over fifty.

Ten Years Of Joy is a £50,000 project delivered by Mary Burns in partnership with the Broughton Trust. It is funded by Ambition For Ageing through the National Lottery Community Fund, 'aimed at creating more age friendly places by connecting communities and people through the creation of relationships, development of existing assets and putting older people at the heart of designing the places they live'.
