The series of Radical Readings fundraising events for Salford's Working Class Movement Library have proved to be incredibly popular, and this latest happening, set for Sunday 14th April, has another top line up of Salford stars and more.
Christopher Eccleston, Sheila Hancock, Julie Hesmondhalgh, Mike Joyce, Nico Mirallegro and Maxine Peake are all booked to appear at Salford University's Maxwell Hall to read accounts of the Peterloo Massacre, concentrating on reports from people who were actually there, rather than on later comments.
Also appearing will be poet Oliver James Lomax and singer Jennifer Reid, compered by Royston Futter, Working Class Movement Library trustee.
Given that this year is the 200th anniversary of Peterloo the event is a fitting way to start the commemorations and, as always, will be a great afternoon
