Panto comes to Green Grosvenor Park in Lower Broughton this Sunday, 16th December, as Salford's Cinderella takes to the stage in a special heated, seated marquee performed and written by Up Ere Theatre Group.
"It's gonna be one really good day" says organiser Keri Muldoon "This hasn't been easy (oh yes it has); it's been hard work just to find a pantomime to come to Green Grosvenor Park. Up Ere Theatre Group have written their very own Salford's Cinderella, and even give us seventy per cent discount as it's a local community event."
As well as the panto, there's going to be dance exhibitions by Salford Aces, Urban Angels and JD Dance, Christmas carols from Ascension Church Choir and a special visit from Santa. There will also be face painting, a bric-a-brac stall, Katie's Catering, Daniel's Ices, cakes from Alex and more.
"We also owe it to the Broughton Trust for letting us have a free room for rehearsals; without them, and the group giving us discount this event couldn't have happened" Keri explains "Also the local shops, people, Salix and Salford Council have helped us raise the money to put this event on.
"The event starts at 12noon, so don't be late!" she says "We have got a disabled viewing area, chairs and mats and the marquee is heated so it's warm as toast. We are asking for donations for this event towards our next venture and all proceeds go back to the park so don't be shy! I hope you can all join us for this one off event which will leave you in the Christmas spirit (oh no it won't)..."
It sounds like it's going to be a proper community day, not to be missed...
