Walk The Plank is opening up its Cobden Works HQ on Cobden Street for a pre-Halloween freak out, with free Little Workshop of Horrors sessions on Saturday 6th October (2pm to 5pm) and Sunday 7th October (2pm to 6pm), plus a Ghouls Paradise Cabaret on Saturday 6th October from 7:30pm that is pay what you feel.
The Little Workshop of Horrors will see frightening fun activities, with revolting Delores on the bad make-up counter doing haunting makeovers, Poisoned Ivy promising 'the ugliest back comb in town', and Professor D Zaster doing slimy experiments.
The Ghouls Paradise Cabaret is hosted by Mandy Romero, with musical support from the Mean Bizness ten-piece soul band... "It's a bit of an experiment so we're looking for both performers and an audience to see what and who comes on stage" state the organisers... "Pay what you feel the cabaret deserves. If our performers leave you with a warm glow of appreciation, hand over your worldly goods and more. If they leave you cold, offer less – even some advice!"
The weekend is just the start of a build up to Halloween with more spooky events planned for later in the month...
"We're delighted to be holding our second open weekend as part of the Fun Palaces programme, and encourage everyone to come along to Cobden Works to try their hand at Halloween themed activities" says Liz Pugh of Walk the Plank.
"Walk the Plank hasn't done a cabaret night for ten years when we used to do them on our theatre ship, and this seemed like the right time to resurrect the idea" she adds.
