SALFORD BUILE HILL MANSION UPDATE MEETING TO HEAR OF PROGRESS

Star date: 12th August 2018

BUILE HILL MANSION MOVES SLOWLY FORWARD

Buile Hill Mansion Support Group Meeting
Tuesday 14th August 7:30pm
Height Methodist Hall

After meeting developer Capital and Centric and the Salford Red Devils Foundation, the Buile Hill Mansion Support Group is holding a public meeting this Tuesday to provide updates.

Plans to revitalise the derelict Buile Hill Park Mansion have taken a long torturous road that, at one point, involved a bonkers plan by the Salford City Mayor to build houses in the park (see previous Salford Star article ? click here).

After a public outcry, and hours before a public meeting of the Buile Hill Mansion Support Group, the Mayor suddenly did a u-turn and announced that no houses would be built in the park (see previous Salford Star article ? click here)

Since then, the Buile Hill Mansion Support Group has met with the developer Capital and Centric, which had planned to build houses to cross-subsidise the Mansion's refurbishment, and the Salford Red Devils Foundation, which originally co-ordinated a community bid for the Mansion's re-use.

An update will be provided at a public meeting this Tuesday 14th August, while both the developer and the Foundation have agreed to attend a further public meeting in September to see how plans can move forward.

I cannot attend but as a former resident from weaste this building should be restored and workshops should be created for locals by a form of donation. The park is enjoyed by lots of people at Halloween and other big dates so the use by the public would be great. The local people want to see this history restored we need to work towards this building being protected.
