To celebrate its 20th anniversary, on Sunday 12th August the Worsley Park Marriott Hotel and Country Club is hosting a free Family Fun Day with loads of activities and stalls.

The Worsley Park Marriott Hotel and Country Club is twenty, and to celebrate it's hosting a free Family Fun Day on Sunday 12th August, beginning at 11am.

For children there's inflatables, an outdoor movie station, face painters and braiders, slime making activity, fair stalls and arcade games, plus lawn Jenga, Connect Four and darts. There will also be sports activities, ranging from archery, to golf, gladiator jousting and a football shoot out.

For parents there's craft beer and gin stalls, while local stores and charities will have displays. On hand will be staff from the police, St John's Ambulance and the fire service, which will also have its mascot and a fire engine at the Fun Day.

Parking will be available on site on a first come-first-served basis so it is recommended to arrive early.

RED SAUNDERS' HIDDEN PROJECT TO RECREATE MASSACRE

Legendary photographer and co-founder of Rock Against Racism, Red Saunders, is to recreate the Peterloo Massacre in three photo tableaus as part of his Hidden Project, which "shines photographic light on great moments in the long struggle of working people for democracy and social justice".

Red is looking for people to feature in the work, plus set and prop builders, caterers, drivers and all kinds of other volunteers for the project which currently has no proper funding, apart from 'tuppance ha'penny', as he tells the Salford Star.

ST PETERíS SQUARE IN MANCHESTER SHOULD BE CHANGED TO PETERLOO SQUARE VOTES MASSACRE COMMEMORATION CROWD

HUNDREDS TURN OUT TO COMMEMORATE 199TH ANNIVERSARY OF PETERLOO MASSACRE

Hundreds of people filled the plaza outside Manchester Central Convention Centre today to commemorate the 199th anniversary of the Peterloo Massacre, in which 18 democracy campaigners died and hundreds were injured by the military. This year the crowd heard accounts of the women who were injured, led by Maxine Peake.

The provisional design for a Peterloo Massacre memorial will be revealed at Central Library on 31st October, while those present at today's commemoration voted overwhelmingly for St Peter's Square to be renamed Peterloo Square in time for the 200th anniversary next year.
