AS 82-YEAR OLD MUM WINS 'LOVE LETTER' PRIZE, FOR MOTHER'S DAY, FREE NAIL TREATMENTS AND CHANCE TO WIN LUXURY SPA EXPERIENCE

For Valentine's Day, 82 year-old Ireane Cosgrove won a bundle of prizes after being nominated by her daughter via the Love Letter Post Box. Now, for Mother's Day, Salford Shopping Centre is asking people to nominate 'marvellous mums' for the chance to win a luxury spa experience.

Meanwhile, on Saturday 3rd March, for World Book Day, Billy the Bookworm will be visiting the Precinct, and kids are invited to dress up as their fave fictional character to win prizes.

For Valentine's Day, Salford Shopping Centre hosted a Love Letter Post Box, and shoppers were asked to propose special loved ones to win a bundle of prizes. 82 year-old Ireane Cosgrove was chosen as the winner, after being nominated by her daughter, Jackie Welch...

"I voted for my mother Ireane because, despite going through illness, she is a real inspiration to myself and my family and truly deserves a treat" says Jackie "It was fantastic to take part in such a lovely community-led Valentine's competition. I'd like to thank the team at Salford Shopping Centre for helping to make our days brighter."

Next up for the Precinct is a celebration of World Book Day, followed by a Mother's Day spectacular with more treats for mums and kids...

Next Saturday, 3rd March, Billy the Bookworm will be visiting to read a selection of kids' classics every half hour between 10am and 4pm, with everything from the Mr Men series, to the works of David Walliams, Dr Seuss and Beatrix Potter on the literary menu. Children are also invited to win prizes by dressing up as their favourite book character.

Meanwhile, on Saturday 10th March, the centre will be celebrating Mother's Day with free nail treatments between 11am and 2pm. Also on the same day, between 11am and 2pm, the Creation Station will be open, helping children to make gifts for their mums, including Mother's Day cards, key rings and bookmarks. 
 
'Marvellous mums' can also be nominated to win a luxury spa experience at The Lowry Spa. The competition only runs on March 10th and the winner will be announced on Monday 12th March.
