THE CENTRAL SALFORD URBAN REGENERATION COMPANY
In its Annual Report, the URC - as it's fondly known - managed to show how £122,600,000 of public money from all over the place (Europe, Council, Government, NWDA etc) is being sunk into Salford's `Corporate Centre'.
So where is it? Apparently it's Salford Central train station and Middlewood, around the deserted canal, amongst other places!
The URC told us that the "Corporate Centre includes the areas of Greengate, Chapel Street, Chapel Street East, Salford Central Station, Middlewood and Adelphi."
Perhaps they ought to tell the city's councillors…
But in the meantime the `WHERE ARE YOU SPENDING OVER £122M OF PUBLIC MONEY? NEVER HEARD OF IT!' AWARD…goes to…
The UUU.RRRR.CCCCCCCCCCCCC…
Applause…
