FAC 51 The Hacienda returns to the Albert Hall in Manchester this week, with an American theme. Joining Hac regulars, Mike Pickering and Jon Dasilva, will be New Jersey's house originator Kerri Chandler, whose DJing appearances see him perform and remix live. On the night he will also be playing keyboards into the mix.

On the bill is also Derrick Carter, instrumental in building the Chicago House scene and Detroit's Delano Smith, who together with re-whizzing early electronica, has recently forged a new techno reputation and new acclaim for his production work as Delano.

The Hacienda's Mike Pickering and Jon Dasilva need no introduction...

RESIDENTS COULD 'VOTE WITH THEIR FEET' AND LEAVE ADMITS COUNCIL LEAD MEMBER

The Salford tower block cladding crisis could take years to sort out and will cost millions of pounds that the Council doesn't have, civic leaders told a full meeting of Salford City Council yesterday as they criticised the Tory Government's response post-Grenfell.

Meanwhile, as concrete boards are starting to be installed over exposed insulation on the blocks, Lead Member, Bill Hinds, said residents could start "voting with their feet" and leave their homes.

SALFORD LADS CLUB AFFORDABLE HOUSING CONFERENCE TO FACE PROTESTS

Tomorrow, 20th July, Salford City Mayor, Paul Dennett, is to be the keynote speaker at a 'housing crisis' conference, hosted by the National Housing Federation and the Joseph Rowntree Foundation at Salford Lads Club.

MORE GREATER MANCHESTER FIRE SERVICE CUTS COULD BE ON THE WAY

Star date: 17th July 2017

AS INQUIRY INTO MANCHESTER ARENA BOMB ATTACK BEGINS, MORE FIRE CUTS COULD BE IMPOSED

With a formal 'debrief', or inquiry, into the response to the Manchester Arena bomb attack due to begin - and with communities worried about fire safety in the wake of Grenfell Tower - behind the scenes Greater Manchester Mayor, Andy Burnham, and his team are looking at 'redesigning' the fire and rescue service - which inevitably means cuts and possible mergers with other blue light services.

"I think there clearly are some, er, sensitivities around that and we'll have to take those into account but yes that is on the agenda" Deputy GM Mayor Beverly Hughes said recently.
