THOUSANDS ON ANTI DONALD TRUMP RALLY BRING MANCHESTER TO A HALT

Star date: 30th January 2017

GREATER MANCHESTER SENDS CLEAR MESSAGE - 'HEY HO DONALD TRUMP HAS GOT TO GO!'

Over three thousand people crammed into Albert Square in Manchester tonight to send a clear message of opposition to Donald Trump and Theresa 'The Appeaser' May.

Chanting 'Hey Ho Donald Trump Has Got To Go!' and 'Refugees Are Welcome Here' an impromptu march, with many carrying placards comparing Trump to Hitler, brought Manchester city centre to standstill.

After a tempestuous weekend of demonstrations all over America, tonight Greater Manchester sent its own message to Donald Trump, comparing his anti-Muslim, anti-refugee policies to fascism and Hitler.

Over three thousand people packed into Albert Square, in the shadow of the Town Hall sign reading Welcome To Manchester, to hear speakers condemn the new US President and Theresa May's invitation for him to come to the UK on state visit.

Everyone, it seemed, had made their own placard on the back of cardboard and even pizza boxes, with messages ranging from `Silence Is Complicity' to `Never Again Is Now!'. History teachers carried photos of Hitler, kids carried homemade pictures of Trump in a bin, and Salford and Manchester's music fraternity were out in force with a `Fac off Donald' banner.

Amidst the satirical placards and chants ('You can't build a wall your hands are too small') one huge banner said it all 'Muslims Are Not The Enemy'...

"Israeli citizens are currently banned from entering 16 states including Syria, Iran, Iraq, Yemen and Libya. Mr Trump’s executive order temporarily barred travel to the US from all of those countries. The other countries which ban Israeli citizens are Algeria, Bangladesh, Brunei, Kuwait, Lebanon, Malaysia, Oman, Pakistan, Sudan, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates." Source: The Independent I await the protests.

I find it extremely distasteful when people are being compared to what happened pre and during WW2. It seems to me that there is an all round lack of respect for people from all sides.

Where was u when Obama banned Iraqis for 6 months & the Saudis (who've taken NO refugees in) when they visited. These people would be better placed spending their misspent energy in their own neighborhoods, rather than wasting peoples time & money policing these liberal fools. #libtardlosers Pathetic!!!!!

This was an incredible demonstration of the anger and resentment about the invitation to visit this country to this disgusting man, who trashes all the norms of a civilised society. They were also vocal about the injustice of US bans on immigrants. What surprised and pleased me was the large number of young people at this protest. If we can raise this same fervour from these young people to fight for the NHS we could make a difference. Maybe not so exciting but as important and essential for all our futures. Also so many of our immigrants work in the NHS so fighting for one supports the other.

For over a month, more than a dozen homeless people have occupied an old empty doctor's surgery in Eccles. The NHS owns the building but, ironically, wants them out and back on the freezing streets. Yet vulnerable people who have fallen through Andy Burnham's 'A Bed Every Night' net are being supported here by rough sleepers teams and grass roots outreach workers...

"We want to bring more people into this building because while we've got it we feel that we're saving people's lives" says Angela Barratt of Salford Street Support "The Salford community has been fabulous with us."
