St John's Cathedral, or Salford Cathedral as it's better known, is to host a Christmas Concert next Sunday, 11th December, featuring festive music and readings.
The two hour event, beginning at 7:30pm, will feature two excellent choirs, the Choir of St John's, conducted by Martin Barry, plus the Notability choir and Anthony Hunt on the organ.
"The programme is of songs and readings on the theme of Christmas, some secular and some religious" says Jane Murphy, Chair of Trustees for Salford Loaves and Fishes "It is not a service, although there may be a blessing from a bishop! It is fast becoming an annual fixture and is highly recommended."
Proceeds from the event will be split between Salford Loaves and Fishes which supports homeless and vulnerable people in the city, and charities funded by Caritas Diocese of Salford.
The Christmas Concert is extremely affordable at just a fiver entry and within the setting of the Cathedral it should be one spectacular and festively poignant night.

Tickets are £5 and can be purchased from Salford Loaves and Fishes on 0161 737 8775 or at the door of the Cathedral on the night – although they ask for people to let them know in advance if they are coming so they can sort numbers for the refreshments which will be served afterwards in the Cloisters of the Cathedral.
