Next weekend Parr Fold Park goes carnival, with Walkden de Janeiro, two days of free family activities and live music. Samba, football and a mini-Olympics will mix with local brass bands, live groups and an open mic acoustic garden to give the event a distinctly Salford flavour.
There'll be donkey rides, bouncy castles and more for children, while on the Saturday, 9th July, Yerrrr Productions are bringing six of the best new bands in the North West to play between 2pm and 9pm - Sky Valley Mistress, James Holt, Lucy Mae, Molly Corcoran, Early Mojo and Blaney...
"We have many activities for all ages, including sports and dance demonstrations, inflatables, live music, donkeys and craft stalls" says Dot of Walkden Community, the award winning not for profit group which has organised the event "We have a full two days of live music from an eclectic mix of local bands and singers, and are also hoping to attract local musicians and singers to come down to our open mic acoustic garden and jam together in a lovely open space."
