This week, the Alan Henning Memorial Garden, based in Eccles Recreation Ground, was opened to the public. In attendance were members of Alan's family, friends and civic dignitaries.
The Memorial Garden design is based upon a clock face; the 360 degree garden created to give the family and community a place of reflective tranquillity. It features a circular yellow flower bed with giant wooden sleepers painted yellow and a plaque stating `In memory of Alan Henning who gave his life helping people of all faiths in their time of need... 1967-2014'.
The garden is situated within Eccles Recreation Ground, Pleasant Road, just off Liverpool Road in Eccles.
