The 10km Greater Manchester Run is the most popular short running event in the North West, and the Salford-based children's cancer research charity Kidscan is looking for recruits to take part on its behalf.
The charity has a number of free places for the run on offer and is hoping that people from Salford will snap them up...
"If you fancy joining tens of thousands of people pouring through the heart of Manchester, then the Great Manchester Run is for you" says Vicky Profit, local fundraiser for Kidscan "At 10km it's still a big challenge, but you've got until May to get into peak condition.
"The Great Manchester Run is such a special event to take part in and to take part is an amazing achievement, particularly as you'll be helping Kidscan fund groundbreaking research into childhood cancer" she adds "These free places will go fast so get in touch now, as when they're gone, they're gone."
Registration is free and Kidscan asks participants to aim to raise a minimum sponsorship of £150.
