The huge In The City music bash arrives back in Manc-land this weekend but its `official fringe event' at the King's Arms in Salford looks to be the most exciting bit.

Shouting From The Sidelines is a three day indie music storm featuring old Hac/Yellow DJ Dave Haslam, `live images' by photographer Kevin Cummins and two of Salford Star's fave sound stirrers, John Herring and the Suzuki Method…

Sunday 18th October: Urchin Pop.
Suzuki Method lead a northern line up featuring The Cougars, The Harks, AREA, China White, The Shills, David Tyrrell, with a special one off special performance of Looking for the Light through the Pouring Rain with DJ Dave Haslam and live images by Kevin Cummins.

Monday 19th October: About the Boys
A mix of urban ballads, acoustic bliss, and classic indie with a dub fusion twist. Stars Lee Broderick, Rawcuss, Violet Bones, James Page, The Genuine Articles, The Shallow Call and Luke Leighfield.

Tuesday 20th October
The Sound of the Underground – The Finale.
John Herring leads the final night's line up featuring SPESS, No Flash, TigerSide, Exile Parade, Bang Bangs and The Jives,
