Tonight sees Antonia Callaghan take to the catwalk, after being chosen as a `High Street Star' from hundreds of girls out shopping in The Arndale Centre, Manc-land. The idea was to find girls who weren't models and to put on a people's fashion show to highlight the new autumn and winter collections available in the Arndale's shops.
Antonia entered the competition and is now in the final with a chance of being a magazine cover star, having her photo taken by celeb snapper Rachel Joseph and having her image up large on a giant hoarding in Manc city centre. She also gets to model clothes tonight with Tina McIntyre and Rhys Ashworth.
"My mum heard about High Street Stars and told me to go try my luck" says Antonia "I'm really excited to have been chosen as one of the finalists and can't wait to strut my stuff on the catwalk"
Karl Clawley, Retail Business Manager at Manchester Arndale adds "We were looking for the real stars of Manchester (ahem, Salford – ed) to do their city proud and Antonia is a great example of that. Manchester (ahem, Salford – ed) is a fantastic place to live and work, we have such a wide variety of people living here and it's time to celebrate that"
The High Street Stars event is tonight, hosted by Key 103's Chelsea, features cabaret from The Birdcage and all the latest autumn/winter looks.
Tickets are £5 with all proceeds going to Key 103's charity Cash for Kids. Tickets are on sale now at the Wintergarden Information Desk (outside hmv).
