"Do you think that Britain needs a pay rise? How do you think your wages compare to others? Are British workers lazy? Are bosses paid too much? If you have an opinion on pay we want to hear from you" state the producers of a special BBC Two programme looking at pay.
Anyone from around the country can take part but it would be good to get some Salford people on there, maybe to talk about the 10.7% wages gap between people who come into the city to work in places like Media City, and Salford residents who work full time (see previous Salford Star article – click here). Child poverty rates in Ordsall, across the road from Salford Quays are hitting over 40%.
People could also talk about public sector pay being effectively cut by 20% in the last four years, with pensions slashed and workloads increasing, while MPs got a 10% pay rise to £74,000 a year. Or people could raise the growing inequality gap that sees the richest 10% own half the country's wealth...
"You, the audience, will be at the heart of the programme so we are looking for people who want to interact and contribute to the discussion which will be 100% audience based" explain the BBC Two.
