What is it they say? `You have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find your prince...' Well, Jess Ramsbottom seems to be doing a lot of rummaging around the lily pads in a whirlwind world of speed dating, online dating and one night stands.
Jess is thirty, single, female, stuck in a dead end job and worried that she'll never find the husband of her dreams. Her plight has been penned by Italia Conti-trained actress Sophie Osborne who has also done loads of telly, film and stage work.
"The idea of the show came about from a monologue I wrote to perform at The Manchester Monologue Slam" says Sophie "It went down really well and I started thinking how I could expand on it. It's now an hour long show with plenty of laughs and music to get you up and dancing too. I've been bowled over by the audience response and the reviews so far..."
Indeed the comedy, with a background soundtrack of 80s hits, sold out when it premiered at the Unity Theatre in Liverpool and has continued to sell out at virtually every venue since.
Kissing Frogs is `a journey of love, loss and self-discovery' with a huge question hanging over the laughter will Jess be the only one of her friends not to be married? This hour long show will hopefully reveal the answer, with a peek inside a woman's psyche en route...
