Hundreds and hundreds of Salford people have been involved with Beechfield United, one of the city's most well known and successful junior clubs. Now Scott Craven, the manager of Beechfield Storm under 7s, wants as many of those people as possible to make a small donation towards potentially saving the lives of young players and supporters.
Scott has already raised £415 out of the £1,200 needed towards buying a defibrillator for the club but, with only three weeks left of his crowdfunding campaign, he still needs to raise £785.
"We need a defibrillator in case of emergencies" says Scott "I've raised £415 but I'm at a bit of a stale mate and need more help. It seems there's only me and my team trying to raise the money and no one else is doing much about it. I don't mind because it's for a good cause but there's so many people associated with Beechfield..."
If everyone who has had a kid playing for one of Beechfield's teams put in just £1 Scott would probably have enough to buy ten defibrillators – but at the moment they only need the one. And time is running out...
