On Wednesday evening the people of Manchester, Salford and elsewhere will be showing their feelings after George Osborne announces his budget, expected to bring another £12billion of cuts to welfare, social housing, public services and more.
After the General Election results in which no Tories were elected in Salford or Manchester the People's Assembly is refusing to accept the Government's cuts, instead inviting everyone to bring their own budgets to a protest, starting at 5pm outside Boots at the bottom of Market Street in Manchester.
"When George Osborne announces where the £12billion cuts will fall he will consign millions more people to poverty, hopelessness and a gruelling fight for survival" states the Manchester People's Assembly "The People's Assembly will be on the streets throughout the country, and in Manchester we will announce a budget for the people loud and clear on the street.
"We invite our supporters to bring their budgets announcing a decent living wage, social housing for all who need it, an end to privatisation and much more" it adds "We protest our anger at the broken democracy that allows this Government to wreck the lives of people who did not vote for it. We will hold a loud and lively street meeting..."
