HAPPY MONDAYS AND BLACK GRAPE STARS JOIN WE ARE THE REALITY PARTY ELECTION SINGLE

Bez and the We Are The Reality Party have launched an incredibly catchy new single called Right Now Is Forever, aiming to get to Number One on election day May 7th, as the Party aims to get elected in Salford and Eccles, and Worsley and Eccles South.

The double A sided single comes complete with another track, Bez's Manifesto, in which the Happy Mondays star sets out his politics, and he's joined on the tracks and four re-mixes by soul stars Loretta Heywood and Jennie Bellestar - lead singer of 80s group The Belle Stars - Happy Mondays' Mark Day and Black Grape's Kermit Leveridge.

Bez promised an election campaign like no other that's ever been done in Salford – and he continues to deliver one in the bid to win two seats in Salford for the We Are The Reality Party...

We've had Bez's Bed-in, a week-long protest starring Sean Lennon and a host of Salford activists; we've had the huge `Join The Revolution' hoardings on Chapel Street; we've had music, dance and politics at Salford, Swinton and Eccles precincts...and now we have the single Right Now Is Forever, a sing-along, rap-along musical temptation to `wake up' and sort out the world.

`How long will you wait as another year goes by? How long will you watch not even try? Cos time is passing fast, if you want this world to last, we've only got today to find a better way...'cos right now, right now...right now is forever...'

"It's a great song about peace, equality and sends a powerful message to the people of Britain" says Bez.

It's so catchy we can see all the other candidates swaying along to it as they canvass, but the We Are The Reality Party has the monopoly on music cred. For the double-A sided single and four really excellent re-mixes, Bez is joined by soul stars Loretta Heywood and Jennie Bellestar - lead singer of 80s group The Belle Stars - Luke Evermean Beats (Blind Arcade), Winker Watson, Mark Day (Happy Mondays), James (Windy) Miller and his girlfriend Firouzeh Razavi (Aniseed).

The other A Side of this single features Bez's Manifesto and is produced by Kermit Leveridge of Ruthless Rap Assassins, Blind Arcade and Black Grape. It's basically Bez setting out his political stall over a trancy, funky back-track and a `it's time we all wake up' chorus...

`I was so disgusted with the way that ordinary people are being treated and also the way our land is being used without our consent, with no care for the people or their health...That's why I decided to stand as MP in Salford...Let's rise..Let's do it, let's do it together...people, people, power to the people...'

The re-mixes are something else too... The Congo Natty Remix begins with the Right Now Is Forever song and flies off into a brilliant ska-rap... `We don't need your nightmare coming around our area, you must be mad...your politics so bad...'

Next up are two soulful Loretta Heywood Remixes (Lhproject Remix and Zero B Remix) that would have Bob Geldoff himself weeping into his wallet... `How long will you turn your head, what kind of world will you pass on when you're dead? How long will you let them destroy the air and earth? How long will you let them say how much you're worth?'
