Terry Christian's Mad Manc Cabaret again goes Salford this week, with Mike Sweeney taking to the stage to do a semi acoustic solo set of Salford Jets classics plus some extra surprises.
Sweeney joins eight other turns performing songs, poems and comedy in a unique night that had the Dancehouse packed last month. Alongside Sweeney, MC Tunes will be publicly grilled in between doing old and new material, ex-Primal Scream and ACR singer, Denise Johnson will be giving a taste of her incredible voice and the Space Monkeys, the last band that Tony Wilson signed to Factory Records, are back on stage for the first time in fifteen years.
Also appearing are the upcoming Little Sparrow, spicy poets Thick Richard and Salford-bred Marvin Cheeseman, mad barber shop quartet, The Travellers, and Kyla Brox, daughter of blues legend Victor Brox and nominated for five years as best vocalist in the European Blues Awards.
There's something in this line-up for everyone and a mad night of Salford/Manc cabaret is promised.
