Tearing Stuff Apart is a community arts project that's going to be running between April and July this year, and is looking for people or groups or schools from East Salford to join its local ecology exploration.
"This is an arts project that invites the community to take a journey to explore the stories behind the stuff we buy" states the group "Exploring how the life of things, such as a t-shirt or a mobile phone, can affect the quality of the environment and people's lives, as well as possible effects on climate change.
"We will use creative activities such as visual mapping, combined with science field trips where we will learn how to measure the quality of the Irwell River's water, and the air and soil in the area" it adds "and beyond, how we can become more sustainable, improve where we live, and explore green opportunities and jobs."
The project also promises lots of art workshops, discussions, `dismantling stuff, story-telling, performance, murals, digital maps, treasure hunting and 3-D modelling'.
Activities will be free, suitable for all ages, and include free food and travel expenses It will run for twelve weeks from April to July.
