CLASS ACTIONS HOOLIGAN SOUND OF SALFORD

PUNK, RAP, FUNK AND ATTITUDE FROM CLASS ACTIONS

"People either like it or they want to shoot us..." Aslan AK

Salford rap collective, Class Actions have released a second album, Hooligan Sounds, with 18 in yer face tracks guaranteed to annoy everyone who reads the Daily Mail and have imaginary love-ins with Nigel Farage and David Cameron.

This is angry urban music for malcontents with some sweet backing tracks and bitter words.

Some of Class Actions tracks need subtitles as the machinegun fast raps of Aslan AK splatter the home comfort prejudices of Middle England. You don't get the intricacies of the lyrics, just hard core choruses...`Rip up The Sun'... `Nazi salute for our lovely Royals'... `Let's raise hell on them ConDem killers'...

The bankers, the ruling class, Rupert Murdoch, David Cameron, Prince Harry, fascists and racist freaks get dragged under the juggernaut of Class Actions' roaring sound that mixes angry punk with drum n bass, hip hop, dub step and more than a sprinkle of industrial funk.

The attitude flies in the first track, Hooligan Sound, where the Class Actions' philosophy is spelt out in no uncertain terms... "My lasting impact is the fact that I'm aggressive, why am I aggressive? You're so fucking repressive..."

Aslan AK sets out the agenda to `agitate and educate' with `hell-bound hate', and the next 17 tracks do exactly that, complete with verbal and metaphorical molotovs going off all over the place.

Hooligan Sound is almost a greatest hits album with a collection of tracks that have sniped their way across YouTube and Facebook over last few years, causing either controversy or untold joy, depending on the political sentiments of the listener.

Rip Up The Sun, a tribute to the Hillsborough victims, is on here, as is the ant-fascist track No Retreat and the totally anti-monarchy diatribe, The Royals. There's also the catchy anthem, M is 4 Maggie, which just about sums up the current attitudes instilled by the former society wrecker, and is having a new YouTube video to go with it as an assault on the Christmas number one (click here).

The Class Actions' classics have been re-mixed for the album, while a bucket load of tracks only previously available on mix tapes have now been officially released.

There's the jazzy, funky Con-Dem Nation - `...Let's raise hell on them Con Dem killers' - plus a `Minefield Mix' of Militant - `...the only thing Militant were guilty of was building houses for the poor and creating jobs in an impoverished city' – and the barbed punk rap of Resistance - `Come on, come on...resist, disobey...I'm rejecting everything in society'...

But apart from the eagerly spat verbals, there's some top production going off in the background by Mike F, who mixes and mashes the styles enabling the tracks to gallop through urgent dub, sparking acid, anvil hard electro and banging drum n bass.

This is the sort of sound you expect to find in a derelict backstreet squat in Berlin, which explains Class Actions recent Euro tours. The fact that it's created in Salford with the attitude of the politically educated dispossessed only adds to its appeal.

Class Actions' are not everybody's cup of tea. As Aslan Ak says "It's got our usual `Fuck you' attitude – people either like it or they want to shoot us..."

For those who like their cup of tea with teacups smashing against the wall, boiling hot water poured over the ruling class and a monkey's piano full of dried teabags stuffed into the gobs of Daily Mail editorial-spouting tossers, this is your album...

Class Actions Hooligan Sounds is available on download from ITunes or in CD format (with an extra bonus track Resistance (Radio Edit) direct from Class Actions classactions@hotmail.co.uk

Thatcher was evil, and rightly burns in Hell. It's vile and evil policies still permeate every rotton facet of the ruination that is Britain.

The daily mail, the biggest and best supported paper in the country by a mile. The only paper that tells the truth on immigration (along with the daily express) to the anoyance of the Labour Party and the limp wristed left wing brigade. Long may it reign. Aslan ak, just another cheap version of the champaign socialist Russell brand, trying to make money out of the limp wristed brigade as Russell brand has done all his career, dosn't believe in socialism, it's just a meal ticket that just keeps giving.

SALFORD STAR – 15 YEARS OF ATTITUDE AND LOVE XXX

The Salford Star closes tonight after 15 years of giving the community a voice, holding power to account and bigging up all the great things that have happened in the city.

Thousands of people in Salford have been involved in one way or another with the Star and we'd like to thank them all. Salford is a very special city and, hopefully, we've given it a very special community publication.

THREATS, LIES, FEAR AND LOATHING IN SALFORD...

Today, the Salford Star shuts down but we write this article as a warning to others who may follow on the pitfalls of founding a genuine publication that aims to give the community a voice and hold public bodies up to account.

They will try to discredit you, block information and shut you down. Here the Salford Star editor, Stephen Kingston, looks at how democracy perished badly under the Salford mayoral system.

THEY WILL TRY TO DISCREDIT YOU...TO BLOCK YOU, TO SHUT YOU DOWN

We are almost at the final closure of the Salford Star but we write this article as a warning to others who may follow on the pitfalls of founding a genuine publication that aims to give the community a voice and hold public bodies up to account.

They will try to discredit you, block information and shut you down. In South America they just blow up the offices of journalists that don't play the game. Here they just financially assassinate you...

SALFORD STAR CLOSURE – GUY GRIFFITHS ON THE HUMAN COST OF PATHFINDER DEMOLITIONS

Star date: 16th May 2021

THE HUMAN COST OF REGENERATION

The Griffiths brothers of Higher Broughton are kind of infamous as the only people to be forcefully evicted from their house as part of the Pathfinder 'housing market renewal' project during the first decade of the 21st Century.

Here, Guy Griffiths, now living in 'sunny' north Wales and one of the main inspirations for the Salford Star's creation, writes the second part his own personal view of the Government project that devastated communities throughout Central Salford.
