Next Saturday, Salford Choral Society goes Glorious Baroque as it performs a wild programme of French and English Baroque music by composers Charpentier, Rameau, Handel, Blow and Purcell.
Featuring soloists Charlotte Trepess (soprano), Katie Bray (mezzo-soprano, who won the Audience Prize in the 2010 Handel Singing Competition), Thomas Kelly (tenor), and Robert O'Connell (baritone), the Choir will be accompanied by Jonathan Scott on the organ. Guest conductor Justin Doyle, currently conducting Opera North on tour, will be wielding the baton.
The Salford Choral Society is one of the leading choirs in the North West, with a membership of 130, and is always looking for new members. If you are interested in joining the choir give Diane Dunning a ring on 01706 670251 or email membership@salfordchoral.org.uk. Further details also at www.salfordchoral.org.uk.
Meanwhile, check out the Choir at the RNCM next Saturday.
