Floating lanterns, fireworks and an exploding demon will form the centrepiece of a free fire and water spectacular at Blackleach Country Park to mark National No Smoking Day this Wednesday.
Ordsall Community Arts has created a giant lantern which will be filled with smoking related messages and thoughts, before being set afloat on the lake to destroy the demon of nicotine addiction in a blaze of fireworks.
The show will be preceded by a lantern parade and right through the early evening event the audience will be given advice on how to quit smoking, which kills an estimated 500 people in Salford every year.
