Dancing and singing certainly won't be a problem at this year's Peel Park Pink Picnic with appearances by the Manchester Prairie Dogs Line Dancing Troupe, the Manchester Gay Gordons Scottish Country and Ceilidh Dance Troupe, the Liverpool LGBT Choir and the Manchester Lesbian and Gay Chorus.
There's also a handbag throwing contest, cracker eating against the clock and prizes for the best hampers and picnic baskets, plus bouncy castles and face painting for the kids. While the event is put on by Salford's LGBT community (in association with Salix Homes), the idea is that the Picnic is a family day and everyone is invited…
"The Peel Park Pink Picnic is an annual LGBT community event that is open to all" says Marcus Peers from Out IN Salford "The event allows people from the Salford community and surrounding areas to gather in the centre of Peel Park to enjoy a family-friendly event."
Tunes throughout the Picnic are being spun by Gaydio Community Radio.
